Garrett Saffron vs. Mason Magleby

Having only attended the spring game, neither looked more impressive than the other. Long term you would have to think it would be Magleby, because he throws the ball better than Safron. With that being said Safron threw the ball a lot better today than I remember him last year.

I think Sperbeck is going to hand the job to Magleby. It is his job to lose. Magleby would not have transferred here if Sperbeck didn't need him to make an Immediate Impact

Maybe, maybe not. It could be just another one of those cases where a kid got homesick. I know Reno's not that far away, but that could be behind it. Del Oro's a whole lot closer to Hornet Town than Reno, that's for sure. The kid could have just recruited himself.

This was the first spring game I have been to. Is the offense normally that pathetic? We had a hard time getting a first down let alone moving the ball.

I don't care what team you're talking about. The defense ALWAYS matures faster than the offense. I wouldn't read too much into this. The team will get things straightened out by Game One.

both qbs looked terrible. i did not see one impressive throw. They will need to improve a lot if we even want to have a respectable year in the big sky. We lost way to many skill players and someone is going to need to step up

This is the 2nd new offense in as many years. Peterson has only been here a few months and it will take time for the players to adjust to the new system. Add to that a lot of experienced skill players graduated and you have a bunch of players tying to gel and learn a new system all at the same time. Unfortunately this will take some time but hopefully they can use the offseason to continue to make the adjustment and get things going in fall camp.

Defensively the players are entering their 3rd year under Parker’s system so there is more familiarity with what is going on. The defense also graduated some key players but the players who are now asked to step in and fill those roles are familiar with the system (specifically the DB’s).
