GDT: Semifinal Game YSU v EWU

I just can't believe it. That game was ours to win. And again, just like Townsend, we let an inferior team win it at the last minute. What a waste.

Yeah... the "turning point" that should have been some f$&/ing pass interference.

Most definitely the turning point. I give Youngstown no credit for this win. Call it sour grapes if you want, but YSU had 2 bogus interceptions and held on the line all day and wasn't called once. All because these refs were too scared of Bo Pelini bitching all damn game. What a sorry excuse for a coach and a person. Sad that all the seniors on this team worked so hard only to get screwed by a pathetic group of refs. Disgusting.

Damn proud of you guys Eastern! Damn proud. Was it a perfect game? No far from it. But you guys had this game taken away from you. I don't care what anyone else says. YSU did not deserve this game, period.

Congrats to YSU. Good luck in Frisco.

Hats off to a team most of us thought would go 7-4 on a great season which we'll look back on fondly after some of this profound disappointment fades. Kudos also to all the hardy fans that braved zero temperatures and snow to cheer the team on! Here's to 2017!

GO EAGS!

Ending was inevitable. YSU off line dominated in 2nd half. Great season by Eags.

Crushing loss but not many people predicted they'd get to the semis back in August.

IMO we were the better team and would have given JMU a game to remember and possibly win. I truly believe YSU will lose by 20 and will wager accordingly to make up for today's big loss. Go Eags!!

I'm stuck in the fetal position...dangnabbit

JMU is going to roll them. They were not the better team.

38-40, yes they were

This is a tough pill to swallow, I haven't felt this way since the Super Bowl debacle at the one yard line. If we haven't learned this lesson yet, we know it now for sure and that is you have to stop the run to win. Lost time of possession 40 to 20.

The difference between winning and losing is razor thin, I mean if it weren't for a play here or play there we don't win it in 2010.

I wish I wasn't an EWU fan yesterday, because that was a FREAKING AMAZING football game.

Glad I made it out and yelled my voice out and created a memorable experience with my nephews. Thanks for the amazing season!

When the dust clears after the FCS Championship game concludes Jan. 7th, it's likely that the champion will not be the team that played the best, said Gerald Skinner, an astrophysicist at the University of Maryland in College Park. "It's not entirely a random process, but the result of an individual football match has got a very large element of chance and randomness in it," said Skinner.

By analyzing the number of scoring chances and their result, which is best described by a statistical phenomenon called a Poisson distribution, Skinner was able to show that if a game were replayed, the number of scores in a game and even the winner could vary considerably even if both teams played exactly as well -- partially because College Football is such a high-scoring game.

Skinner's good friend, Stephen Hawking, when asked if the better team always wins answered, "there is only one man on this planet that would make such a preposterous statement and his name is clawman."
