Get Mid-West linemen

For whatever reasons, UNC has not been able to recruit good, big, tough, mean linemen for a long, long time. I've said it a million times on this board (but I guess the coaches won't take my advice), but go out and get linemen from the mid-west states. Look at UNI today and they're beasts up front. They totally dominated us - especially on the line. Poor Rubes! The guy had no chance against their line. Our running backs, no holes to run through. The guys we recruit from Colorado are SOFT.

Greeley is blue-collar town, much like most cities in the mid-west. Most would love to live in a great state like Colorado. Go get them!!!

Quality is quality, who cares where they are from? You think Alabama and Florida State are looking for kids in the Midwest? Even Montana has o-linemen from Arizona, Washington State etc..

We seem to have decent recruiting classes, even on the line which makes me think the problems begin once they land in Greeley.

Yeah I don't care where we get the lineman. I've always wondered why having a struggling line has always been a issue at UNC. ALWAYS.

As I recall. .... we seemed to be making some steps forward with Coach Biddel (sp?).
He seemed to have the respect of the players. I believe that he left as the result of the amature approach around him. ... his unwillingness to remain around such egocentrism. Apparently he didnt "buy into" this head coach
Why would a Coach with his level of experience want to stay on this ship?

What? Biddel coached under Scott Downing. Not Collins. He was one of the first out of the former staff to get a job. He was long gone before Collins was even hired. Your hatred of Collins and the accuracy of your posts have you losing credibility on here.

Wrong is wrong....my sincere apologies. The last thing that I intend to do is provide incorrect info. .. again, please accept my apologies. I do want to clarify. .....I have no hate toward mr collins .......I do hold his actions in contempt....as well as those behind the hiring process.

Right now the problem isn't just the players. The coach who left last year(coach Smith), Had the players respect The new guy (coach Wick) is more like a teenager in as much as he is immature and holds grudges. If he ever realizes that he is a coach at a D1 school and not in the high school gym anymore maybe we have a chance to turn the o-line around. But he isn't even the biggest problem Boyer wont stop calling inside runs on 1st and 2nd down. almost every time.

Well...email Collins and let me know you want him fired.

Email Collins and let you know you want him fired, is this Collins?
I Don't want him fired just want him to grow up and act like an adult.

No, I'm not Chip. However, here's coach Wikre's email address. Just let him know your frustrations regarding his behavior. [email protected]

Seven sacks today. Yes, that's seven sacks. That's not a coaching issue, that's a talent issue. They're just horrible. EWU doesn't have the greatest defense either.

Beardown, I don't agree with you but if you think that it is not a coaching issue and that it is a talent issue than tell us who recruited this lack of talent? I don't think there is one Downing recruited person on that offensive line. If you take that perspective than Collins should be fired for his inept recruiting ability!!! Either way, this fool should be dismissed...remember it was Collins that said once he got his players in there, they would win.

The first post on the thread doesn't say anything about the inability to either coach talent or recruit talent. Just because someone is from the Mid-West and play OL does not mean they are talented. There are many examples of teams with less talent winning games and there are many examples of teams with exceptional talent losing them. Either way without leadership, coaching, mutual respect and direction you don't have a shot!
