• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Let me first start out with an introduction. I am a weber student and have always gone to wildcat games with my dad and grandpa growing up and I bleed purple. I have wanted to get involved with the Purple Pak but with a full time job and full time student I have only been to one game this year. I will be to this saturdays game. I volunteered this summer to sell tickets to ogden business', but I got a late start in July so I was only able to sell three family passes. We need to fill up stewart stadium and the Dee. I know the marketing director and he has a love for the department but has some challenges. We can make a difference to keep Rahe here so lets get up and make them proud.

Welcome to the forum :!:

Yes welcome to the forum

Me and my dad always go to Weber State games, my dad has been going to them since he was younger than me, and Im 22. I love watching Wildcat basketball and Football.

On the subject of filling the Dee me and my friends my dad and his friends are going to try to do thier part this saturday, me and 6 of my friends will be attending, and my dad his brother and his brother's son and my dad's cousin are also going, so a grand total of 11 will be there to cheer on the Wildcats as they aim for Big Sky Supremacy and a shot to host the Tournament.

the best part about my friends coming is 3 of them are BYU fans and 2 are Utah fans only one of my friends is a Wildcat fan (Guess you can tell who my best friend is 8-) ) so im getting a few blue and red bloods to join the party.

What challenges does he have?

Welcome to the board...its great to have another cat fan on here!!

I'd also like to know, what challenges? Other than having a small budget.

The marketing department is only one person even though the website says they have two people. He is in charge of game day operations as well so he has to spend more than half of his day on making sure he has signage up, full support crew, and everything is functioning fully. What they need to do is hire someone who just does tickets, but with the budget cuts and hiring freeze that will not happen for a while.

The budget issues are really killing Weber. Oh well...

I heard that the Athletic Department hired a firm to get sponsorships and that the marketing dept. is now only going to focus on getting butts in the seats. Is this really happening, especially with the budget issues that the university and department are suffering from?

I thought that was what Jerry Graybeal was doing in is new position? Working with getting corporate sponsorships, why would they need to hire an outside firm?
