Golden1 Arena???

Based on that math I'd say go for it...we don't necessarily have to make a profit although it would be nice...get the product in view and then look to possibly make a profit...with the right teams a 8,300 gate is attainable...
I agree. Plus a little bit of coin could be made if the game is televised. The ticket goal drops to 6250 if tickets are $20, which is more than reasonable for an appealing P12/MWC team. I hope this is something Katz/Macriss would look into.

This could also be a great opportunity for us to reach out to major alum donors to sponsor the event, and maybe even put together a purse for a team that would draw well.

**Just decided to BUMP this thread since we now know the facts.

It's not often that I'm right, but my guesstimate of 10,000+ was pretty accurate. The announced attendance was 10,104.

Granted, there were TWO games but the 2nd game was CAL v. San Diego State. Not exactly an A list game.

I read that next season they will have KANSAS v. STANFORD. I definitely going to that. That could draw really well -- especially if both teams are good.

the arena really did feel like a big time college basketball game. Yes, the Sac / Davis game had a small crowd to start but it grew and grew throughout the game with people showing up after work I assume. A Monday night game for Sac State at 5:30 p.m. is a challenge on campus and this was off campus but hoped there would be more interest in the history being made. But was pleased with those who did show up and cheered on the Hornets. A very supportive crowd

Loved the guy on the microphone in the arena who pumped up the crowd. Get someone like him at Hornet Gym. He rocked.

Scott Moak was the PA for both games.

Kansas/Stanford is not a part of the Sac St/Davis game next year they are on different dates.

Cal vs SDSU is absolutely an A List game. This was one of the best non conference matchups on the West Coast and there were multiple lottery pick potential players going at it, Bird being out was unfortunate though.
