Morrison Named To Canada's National Development Team
Portland State center Scott Morrison is among twelve players selected by Canada Basketball for the Men’s National Development Team. The team will compete at the FISU Games in Bangkok, Thailand, August 7-19.
Morrison is competing for a Canadian National Team for the second time. In 2005, he was on the Canadian National Development Team that competed at the World University Games in Turkey.
Morrison, a 6-11 center, will be a senior for the Vikings in 2007-08. He comes off a season in which he averaged 11.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots per game. Morrison has set PSU records for blocked shots in a career (134), season (70) and game (6).
The FISU Games are the second largest multi-sport games in the world after the Olympic Games and run by the International University Sports Federation.
Team Canada begins competition against host Thailand on Tuesday, August 7 at 2:30 am PST. They will then take on New Zealand on Wednesday, August 8 at 6:30 pm PST. Games after that are TBA. /users/31/07/37/smiles/595146.gif
