Good win for the women

ISU fought back from a 19-point first half deficit to beat Seattle 83-67 at Reed Gym today. Four Bengals scored in double figures, led by Apiphany Woods, who hit her last 6 shots enroute to a 20-point, 6 assist day. Woods had one spin-a-Rama move that had the crowd on their feet. Anna Policicchio had a great game: 18 points, 7 boards and 8 blocks, and Brooke Blair and Freya Newton broke out of shooting slumps to have good games. ISU was horrible in the first quarter, turning the ball over 7 times and trailing 21-6, but once they got their feet under them they dominated.

That was a really fun game. ISU showed that they have some depth and talent. We might have the best offensive player in the league in Woods and the best defensive player in Policicchio. Losing Kenyon and Hochstein hurts a lot but I still think ISU will be a competitive Big Sky team.

Definitely a great comeback from a very flat start and maybe the worst deficit I've seen over the years, at least to start a game. They played with heart and emotion and it was a nice turnaround with a great team effort. Looking forward to the Utah State game on Tuesday! Go Lady Bengals!
