Great, great win over CSU.

Wow, what a game. I was mad at the outset when Mark Randall commented on how "It didn't stink outside, it usually does" just before the game tipped off. Thanks jerk.

The game was just great. Jabril Banks was a monster, the crowd was fantastic and it was on TV. Could not ask for anything more.

This is all the Post had on the game:

GREELEY — Jabril Banks had 17 points and nine rebounds as Northern Colorado defeated Colorado State for the first time in 20 years with a 72-59 victory Saturday night.

Robert Palacios added 12 points. Jefferson Mason and Taylor Montgomery had 11 points each for Northern Colorado (3-3). The Bears had 19 offensive rebounds that led to 20 points.

Marcus Walker led Colorado State (4-3) with 17 points. Willis Gardner had 16 points for the Rams, who had beaten Northern Colorado eight straight times.

The Rams led by as much as 51-47 with 8:52 left. But UNC's Will Figures hit an uncontested 3-pointer to tie it at 53.

That last part I put in bold because made it seem like UNC had to come from behind to win the game, like CSU had the game in hand. Poor writing.

The game was basically back and forth from start to finish, athough, it seemed to me like UNC controled it except for a 5 min strech which was ended by Figure's 3.

I think the Post was writing from the prespective that CSU was the favorite.

It was an awsome win, by far the best win since the transition.
Plus the fact that we did it without Archibeque and Tabi.

Go Bears!

Just consider yourself lucky you didn't hear any of the CSU radio broadcast. I listened to about the first ten minutes before I got home and got the TV on. I've never heard those two clowns before because who cares about CSU basketball, but they were the worst homers I've ever heard. Every call was wrong and every time down there wasn't a call the refs missed it... beyond that they ripped the UNC cheerleaders, the guy who sang the national anthem, the crowd, the arena... I'm not sure why they were so smug but I should have turned the game on at the end I'm sure they had a million excuses for why they sucked so bad.

On that note, go to ramnation.com, they think the apocalypse has hit. CSU, you got beat by a better team with a better coach, get over it.

I think the apocalypse must have hit. UNC with a decent basketball team--Hell might have frozen over as well. I can't say I'm complaining though. I was actually thinking that it might be possible to make the NCAA tournament--but its a little early for such thoughts.

Wow that ramnation board sure is a piece of crap. It sure is funny reading their posts trying to degrade UNC even after their loss.

PTW, please tell me you live in the metro...Otherwise I'm insulted that you didn't listen to our broadcast ;)

That was a fun game. Good to see the seats filled and with 3 or 4 games on television the last few years this is the first time I recall a win on TV, so that was great. Banks obviously is the big difference this year but I also think Mason has really become a much different player than last year which of course makes sense but he is just more of a force out there. Also, that Freshman, #44 hitting those 3's as a power forward type, that guy could be a force in the future. The huge rebounding difference was the key, UNC was just tougher and CSU really plays soft. The two over hyped 7 footers are a joke, Aguilar had the physique and skill of a drunken Manute Bol with a mullet and Creason plods around the court like Frankenstein... Our guards out quicked them all night with the exception of #4 for CSU doing some damage, but beyond that their guard play was terrible. It's also amazing what can happen when you don't turn the ball over 30 times a night like last year, get good shots, and protect the ball and good things happen.

I ventured over to ramnation.com, and gawd that message board sucks... it is impoissiable to find anything.

I just realized that we are number one in the big sky conference right now. I know it is early but that is huge for UNC.

I was so excited to sit down and watch this game and I missed it. Congrats on the big win. Why didn't Arch and Taibi play? Anyway, it looks like Tad has you guys moving in the right direction. Can't wait to see how the Big Sky turns out.

Taibi is out until the BSC season with a knee injury that needed surgery. Archibeque is waiting for clearance from a concussion. Both injuries came during the 10 days between the first DU game and the Johnson & Wales one.
