Great Summer Camps

I was at the 7 on 7 + "Big Man" camp on Saturday, June 25.

There were 15 "7 on 7" teams, and at least 60 kids in the "big man" camp.
(looked like most schools brought their Varsity and some JV and stuck all the linemen in the big man camp
BUT there were a lot of linemen that were just there on their own)
WOW!

I remember going to a summer camp a couple of years ago and there were maybe 3 real prospects, a couple dozen kids from local high schools, and a number of middle school kids.

I spoke briefly to Collins.. told him how great that camp day looked in terms of attendance and participation.
He said that he had room for up to fourty (!!) teams!!

What a change a couple of years and a positive regime change can make!

Great news! Brings in some money for the program and helps out recruiting. Did the QB from Grand Junction play today?

I should have been more specific...

The camps I speak of are the skills/recruiting camps that give H.S. kids a chance to learn more AND give our coaches a chance to see players in action. These camps are strictly voluntary thing, attracting locals as well as those interested in playing at the hosting university. (All div. 1A and 1AA do this; these fill a roll as a community outreach effort, too..)

These are NOT UNC team camps.

To my thinking, the shear number of kids must have approached 300 !!! Compared to Downings tenure, this is probably about a 10X increase and speaks well of Coach Collins' connections and ability to generate excitement from within the state of Colorado.

I'm truly thinking that this next season

...finishing my thought...

..I'm truly thinking that this next season is going to be a true success and a lot more fun than any we've seen in the last half-dozen years or so....

I knew what you were referring to, but I was asking if Sean Rubaculba the kid we offered a scholly to. Class of '12.

I wished I shared your optimism for the up coming season, but losing Jace Davis and Ryland really deflated my expectations. I know we have depth at both those positions, but this does hurt. Alot.
