I wasn't trying to be left handed...just honest! The fact that I'm still stinging from our loss to EWU and our quarterfinal beating isn't helping either. I've talked some smack about EWU this season and I'm here to eat some crow. EWU proved they belong where they are this year. I really hope you guys do well.

It's the same thing with the Griz to me. I don't like them, but I can respect the team and their successes.

Now that your season is over and you have had some time to reflect on the season, do you agree at all with the belief by some that the Bobcats were over rated all season?

I would say MSU was only overrated compared to EWU . . . look they had a horribly easy schedule for their preseason and they won a play-off game . . .most teams would take that (cough cough see . . .Montana).

I'm not sure that I can bring myself to say the Cats were overrated this year. There were certainly times when I felt like we didn't play up to our #2 National ranking and other times when we did live up to the bill. I think we were seeded correctly in the playoff bracket at #3. When I saw that we would run in to Sam Houston sooner than later in the playoffs, I knew it would be a struggle. Our young, light O-Line (while they played admirably) caught up to us in the playoffs and were dominated by a stellar SHSU D line.

As far as our schedule was concerned, I can concede that it wasn't the toughest in the Big Sky by far (even though Drake ended up being the best team in the Pioneer League). Our OOC schedule wasn't tough except for Stephen F Austin. However, the Big Sky conference/schedule as a whole was very strong this season, and there were few games won by comfortable margins, nor were there many easy opponents for EWU and the Cats (see Southern Utah). I penciled in on our schedule at the beginning of the season that we HAD to win the EWU game to go deep in the playoffs this year, but we didn't....and we didn't.

To summarize, I often thought we were overrated...but we kept on winning so it's hard to say we were overrated (plus I'm a Cat homer) I can understand where the ranking committee was coming from. Good luck this weekend!
