Gregorak leaving UM for MSU

I was surprised Choate took the position, for a coach to "drop down" seems like a big step backwards in salary. Maybe not immediately but there will be very little upside for Choate compared to moving up the ranks of FCS.
Now as I see the list of coaches Choate has assembled there are a couple other FBS coaches on the list.

HC: Jeff Choate- Washington DL/ST
OC/QB: ?
DC: Ty Gregorak- Montana DC
LB/Ast. HC: Kane Ioane- MSU DC/LB
Ast. HC/(DBs?): BJ Robertson UM-W HC
TE/Recruiting Coord: Bo Beck MSU DL/Recruiting Coord
RBs: Michael Pitre: MSU RB
OL: Brian Armstrong: Rocky HC
WRs: Matt Miller: Boise St GA
DL: Byron Hout: Boise St. GA
DB: Gerald Alexander: Indiana State DB's

Why would a coach do that?? Apparently Gregorak was really anxious to get away from Stitt evidenced by a lateral move.
Choate must be a hell of a recruiter!

He was relieved of his defensive game planning strategies after blowing up at half time of our game against PSU. Our defense played remarkably better from that point on. His lateral move isn't the end if the world as Stitt had "his guy" on staff already but was told by our AD when hired that he had to keep Ty for a year.

It's extremely hilarious to listen to griz fans suddenly don't want TG or suddenly now he's no good, even though less than a month ago he was a God that would always be a griz...

Well times are definitely changing in Missoula, IMO Stitt's trying to burn that place down, he's suddenly become my favorite head coach!

Just as hilarious are the cat fans who ridiculed the Griz for hiring Ty back after his "issues" in Las Vegas. Touting how the cats would never hire some one with character issues as msu doesnt condone a win at all cost culture, its all about class......oh the irony

I have never heard a word about this until you guys brought it up on ejizz. TG is an excellent coach. That defense you had was the only reason you weren't a 3 win team this year imo. Pretty weak attempt at trying to put a negative spin on MSU fans too. UM has taken a HUGE chance on Stitt and his "innovative" system. I know I'm a Cat fan, but there is a real possibility that Stitt shitts the bed and sinks that all world football program in moossoula.
