I agree. Just not sure about their methods.WILDCAT said:Cant say I blame them, it's one thing to be Academically successful. (which in truth should be the real goal). But Sports is what brings in the $$$. And You cant fault ISU fans and boosters for wanting more W's. It would be the same here at Weber if we were in their position. We are actually enjoying a pretty successful era in Weber State Sports. And it's like the Article says, If schools like Weber and EWU can be successful why cant ISU?

You are right about the academics and people in academics know that. However, the general public sees only the shinny object, athletics. Athletics and TV sets are driving the flow of money. UI and ISU still have strong small communities and some good contributors to their programs. They just don't have the bling to bring in the big TV promoters and money. BSU got somewhat lucky with a few good years of high level football and it got them a lot of attention and brought in more resources. Now, if you were to ask a random person in California which school has the most valuable degree, I don't think they would pick UI or ISU. The only one of the three they have heard anything about is BSU. It's all about perception and has little to do with reality. :shocking:talhadfoursteals said:Boise State has really hurt ISU and Idaho. Both ISU and UI are far superior in academics, but because the blue turfs are good at sports they get all of the states attention, resources, and support. It doesn't hurt also being located in the capitol.
