My mother and father in law mentioned this little nugget regarding Hayford being potentially in the running at USF http://m.sfgate.com/collegesports/article/Rex-Walters-out-as-USF-basketball-coach-6879872.php
personally I think this would be a bad move for him. He would be battling for 2 or third place in the wcc every year and in the sky he would have a shot every year. Plus I think Reese court is way better than USF's arena. I know he just signed a 5 year detention too, but we all know how that works.

EWU98,
Heard Coach Hayford on the radio few days ago talking with the personnel from KXLY/ESPN Radio, he was asked if he was going to go back to California, he denied going any place, he stated he loves his team, and where he is at present. So I guess this is a "NO", staying at EWU? Vic

Looks like San Fran might have to get in line.
If you are Hayford this is great news ...time to either renew his current contract or jump ship for big bucks.
Personally I hope he stays for continuity sake.

Portland? USF?

Why on Earth would he go to those programs? At best a lateral move, in markets that cost a lot more to live.

LDopaPDX,
You can take Coach name off Portland/USF List. I don't think he will be going anywhere but to get the team ready after his meetings out of town, and Vacation Time with his family. School started yesterday, and I can guarantee he will be staying here as an "Eagle Coach", here is hoping for the best for Coach Hayford. Go Eagles!!!! Vic Wallace

To All, Yesterday got some bad news about my younger Sister passing from a Heart Attack, she was 75 years old. No more pain, suffering. I had to leave the house after I got the bad news, went to EWU about 4:30 p.m. saw Jonah Jordan, Mitch Fettig, J.J. Njoki, Tysen Prunty, John Kreifles, Jake Hoffman, Jakob Stoll, Moe Roberts, Sam Enos, some of them was going to Coach Schmedding for BBQ. Jarrod Jones, and Aaron Neary was going to the weight room, Neary is getting ready for Pro Day this Friday a.m. Good Luck Neary. Go Eagles!!!!!Vic Wallace

Saw a memo someplace yesterday where Coach said he wasn't going any place right now, he is celebrating his 25th Wedding Anniversary, and seeing his son graduate from High School. He will be spending some time in Arizona vacationing with his family, and returning to get his recruiting of a few more Players for the coming year. Vic Wallace

We now know coach is staying put, but I couldn't agree with this more. Even if he would have been offered the San Fran or Portland job, why would you leave EWU for either position? I don't feel like either program has anything on us. We've beat San Fran the last two years in their gym.
