Well after the win last week, its time to move on... UNC flies home 1 and 1 after losing by 21 points.
Final score 28-7

The fact is Collins cannot get it done. He has less than 20 wins as a head coach in what 50 games?

What is Alcorns record since Collins has been gone?

I hope the players pull this one out for their sake.. They are auditioning for a new coach right now, who needs to come in and turn things around. Collins is gone by week 4.

They have some players on the Huskies team. Their QB seems really good. A highly rated one out of high school and has bounced around. Our defense is horrible. I don't like our odds.

I'm optimistic about our chances. I think Western was amped up and they have a stud RB. That kid would play at a lot of D1 schools, not sure what happened there. But I don't see that Houston Baptist has a lot going for them - the played a weak NAIA team and their QB has done nothing including his senior year in high school. He threw 4 TDs all year and 1700 yards - not what I call impressive. He's big (6'6" 240) but I have a hunch he sucks against us and has all kinds of turnovers. Regardless, our defense was scary bad versus Western, so hope they come with a different game plan at HBU. I'm hoping those 16 linebackers we have can spell each other a little more and play aggressive. Offensively, mix it up and give Riek a series off or plays off to keep him fresh- where was Darius Graham? Doghouse? No reason to sit him or the 5 FBS guys we picked up. Maybe the coach didn't want to show them yet, not sure. I think we win another close one, and defense shows up better

They sure know how to schedule a cupcake game, I'll give em that. They won their first game 51-7 against a school that has 712 students total. According to their site, they have 103 players on their roster, making the football team just about 15% of the school population. I figure this game will be another shootout. Either UNC wins 45-38 or they lose 53-45.

Hilarious reply ! After watching the game with Western State, I am not sure even after the HBU game we will have a good bead on how this team is really going to play in the Big Sky. I saw some great things and also saw some terrible stuff on Defense and since it was a D!! team, I am not really comfortable yet where we are. Bears win. If not, Mustari already knows where my head is. :D

Seriously, the Bears barely squeaked out a win against a younger and less experienced HBU team in Greeley last season. The Bears were down 5 heading into the 4th quarter. Now they get to fly down to Houston and play a game in the Texas heat and humidity. The defense sucks and despite what everybody thinks after last Saturday's performance, we really have no idea if the offense is any good. My original prediction was the Bears losing by 14, but as we get closer to the game I am going to say I think that UNC will be lucky to keep it under 14. HBU wins by 17.

If you believe that then you should be betting some cash on HBU. http://www.sportbet.com/lines/football_college_extra" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Bears are currently 20.5 point favorites, but what do they know. :D

I agree with 303. HBU is a start up program and last year were like 90% freshman and sophomores and we barely squeaked by at home... now on the road and they actually have a junior class...

McCandyman I will bet my mortgage for the months worth of games they don't pull out a W. And I'll parlay that winning bet they don't score more than an average 17 points (offensively). Same song and dance these past 4 years folks! But McCandyman your loyalty is admirable. Slightly misplaced but at least you've had 5 years to make it work right?

I doubt they know very much at all about either team. In fact, I'm guessing it would be nearly impossible to find a line on this game in Vegas. Thanks for pointing it out though, that may be the biggest lock of the year. No way in hell a team that can only slip by a lousy D2 team by 8 points at home is going to travel to Houston and win by 3 TD's. I will bet money on that line and I will take the money line. I may just put the entire bank roll on it. Then as numbear1 recommends I am going to roll that each week. Going to be a profitable season.

Western State played a rivalry game and competed with hate. The Western State players came in with chips on their shoulders and played with intensity. The majority of these players have a bone to pick with UNC, because they were passed over. They had something to prove. Rivalry games are difficult to predict. how often do we see 30 point underdogs win rivalry games. The bears didn't have the sense of rivalry. Our defense wasn't at their best, but the offense rolled. Coach Kerr will have the defense ready in Houston and the offense will roll again. Bears win big and cover the spread!

Is it just me or did the Western State team look bigger, faster and stronger than our team? They sure outplayed us and the stats show that they should have won the game. I hope we win at HBU, but after last week I don't think it will be easy. This could be our only chance for a win this season against a D1 team and it doesn't look good. The rest of the conference seems to be very strong and it will be a different story. With our lousy defense we may not win a conference game all year.

UNC by 3

I don't if they are bigger and stronger, but our tackling was very poor. You can go back and watch some of the video clips and the tackling was half-assed. Bad tackling is usually just about effort.
