Head Coach Search

Interesting story in the O today about how there is no official announcement yet. Maves did indicate that we'd know by the end of this week. Hopefully Maves can report on some candidates at the same time he reports on the official announcement.
 
From what I have heard about Lupfer from a couple of friends who played for Walsh and Lupfer is that they think Lupfer would be the best person for the position. They said his drive and passion for the game is unparallel to coach Walsh's! They both had tremendous respect for Lupfer and said that he deserves the position. They both mentioned that he would be the guy to take a very talented Vikings football team to the playoffs and possibly a national championship run.

If this is the case and Lupfer does get the job then I would be very interested in who he will get to fill in his DC position and Recievers coach.

From what I have heard from my two friends about Lupfer I recant my position of him getting the HC position. I still think that we need a very intelligent and explosive OC. We have been way to predictable for way to long and if the current OC cant get it done then we should find somebody who can!

Lupfer seemed to be the guy from the start of all this, hopefully he can blossom into a great coach

any ideas for an OC?
 
Jay Locey would be awesome but not possible, We would not be able to offer him enough unless Lupfer had a good relationship with him. I would have to do some serious research to give a good list of recruits. If I had to characterize an idea candidate it would have to be somebody who comes from a successful program, somebody who has the creative ability and tenacity to do something different, somebody who can develop an explosive and highly complex offensive program, and somebody who is very confident in their abilities and are willing to take risks in order to win.

If we could get somebody like that I think we would be a force to contend with and a team to fear! We could possibly become the team to dethrone Montana from the dominant force that they have become in the BSC.

However this is a hypothetical and until the Athletic Dept. can get itself together its not very possible!
 
I'm with Canzano on this one. Either HC or OC, get this man in the program. How many years have we seen the same old stagnant offensive concepts from this program? New blood, new concepts, new interest.
 
Is Speckman in play in the minds of anyone that matters?

John Canzano doesn't pay the bills at the AD. Heck, if anything, he's trying to draw money for the O from them (let's just say I'm always skeptical of newspaper types complaining that organizations don't market enough... conflict of interest IMO, even if it's true that PSU doesn't market enough).
 
I think Klenakis & Speckman are two good options, and I like Lupfer because he has the most invested at the school.
 
I agree with Mr. Charlie Evans as well! If Lupfer takes the Head Coach position I wonder who he would want to replace him?
 
If Klenakis were to end up here, his offense would generate alot of attention......

the unr offense is the product of chris ault the head coach, im not sure what offense klenakis would run
