Heading to Missoula - Tourney

Good grief - that's the last place I was hoping would host the tourney. They deserve to host, they won the regular season although I don't necessarily think any team is the clear-cut favorite. We have the ability to beat any team in the conference as well. That being said, we match up worst against the Griz. But first we've got to take care of NAU.

At this point in the season, it's time to lace up the shoes and play. I would agree Montana might be our toughest matchup. I also think the Bears have a good chance at winning this thing.

Let's hope the Bears show up ready to play!!

UNC's a damned good offensive team. NAU...not so much. NAU's a good defensive team. UNC....not so much. Who controls the tempo?

Based on recent history, I don't have a whole lot of faith that NAU can beat the Bears.

Well crap. You would expect seniors to come through and make their damn free throws in crunch time. Haven't we had this conversation before?

Can someone explain to me why Tim Husskinson was used as sparingly as he was???? I thought he was as talented as anyone in the BSC but Hill seemed to blame anything bad that happened on him. He was always looking at the bench to see if he was going to get pulled. If Hill had shown confidence in him I think he would of been All BSC 1st team.

Good question. Probably a bit of Hill's fault and a bit of Tim's fault. Tim often got in foul trouble, so that's part of it. But Hill doesn't develop players either. :twocents:

Tim may have been as talented as anyone in the BSC...on the offensive end of the floor. On defense, it was kind of the opposite, which goes a long way in explaining the issues with foul trouble.

I agree. I thought he would be one of the ones to step up this season. He's very talented. Just never was able to put it together.

Great question, I have stated before Tim would have been one of UNC's all time greats if Hill would have figured him out. IMO, Hill was in his head way to much.

If you look at his career, Tim played his best ball when he was allowed to start his junior season. I'm perplexed why Hill didn't realize that Tim is the type of kid that plays better with positive reinforcement.
How Tim wasn't in UNC's starting line up this year is beyond my comprehension. My bet, you would have seen a totally different player this past season. I've already shown twice how he was the most productive player for the Bears the last two seasons. Heck, who knows what kind of numbers he would have produced had Hill just let him play.

Being objective, Tim could have done a better job on the defensive end. He definetly did get some dumb fouls. However, he was usually out sized as his true position is a 3 and he usually guarded a 4 or 5 from the other teams.

I will sign off by saying it was an absolute pleasure watching him play these past 4 years. Tim is a talent that is fairly rare and I personally believe Hill didn't know how to massage his true potential.

Thanks for the memories Tim, good luck in your future endeavors

I wish nothing but the best for our seniors. It was an up and down season but enjoyed watching all of them over the past few years. Go Bears

Same to your nephew as well. Tevin should be remembered as one of the better Bear players in recent memories. :thumb:
