When Weber State plays under Smith's direction next season, WSU's uniforms will not have players' names on the back, only the word "Wildcats."

That's in line with Smith's mantra about players playing for the team, not for themselves.

"That's a philosophy I've always believed in," Smith said recently. "We're not a bunch of individuals. The name that matters is the one that's on the front. That's what I've believed forever. For us to be real good, we've got to buy in to the team aspect."

I like the idea of no last names on the back, but I think the back of the jerseys should be left blank. With Wildcats on the back it will look like a High school team out there who reuses their jerseys for every season.

I kind of agree. I like the idea behind it, but I think it would be better if left black. I can't think of another college team that does this. But not that big of a deal, so long as the team plays well and wins they could play in pink for all I care.
