Henry's Helping Hand

In case you have not heard yet, former Bengal TE, Patrick Henry's mother has been fighting multiple myloma cancer. Pat cannot spend enough time with his mom at the Seattle Cancer Care Center due to his work obligations here in Pocatello. Since this is the case, a benefit dinner and auction will be taking place at Courtesy Ford in Pocatello August 21st at 7:00 pm. Also a golf scramble will be held at Riverside Golf Course August 22nd. Registration for the golf tournament begins @ 1:00. The tournament tees off at 2:30pm. Pat feels that this is the best way to help his mother right now. Hopefully, these events will help take away her financial burden of missing a minimum of 3 months of income due to time loss at work.

Bengal Country, the support from Pat's teammates and friends has been simply incredible. The dinner is catered by Mama Inez. Hooligans will also have their wet bar set up. But, probably the most incredible support has been the auction items that have been donated. Jared Allen has donated autographed footballs, photos, an autographed home vikings jersey, away jersey, and his Pro Bowl jersey. DJ Clark and Evan Dietrich-Smith have donated their Green Bay Packers signed jerseys. There is a 3 Night Cabin stay on Bear Lake's Westside Golf Course, 2007 PBR World Finals Champion Wiley Peterson donated an autographed performance shirt, There will be a 12 guest tailgate party for the home game against Weber State, and Jeff Charleston donated a signed football with not only his signature but also head coach Sean Payton, Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Marques Colston, Robert Meacham, Jeremy Shockey, Wil Smith and more. There are numerous other live auction items as well as silent auctions. To me, this is a great example of The Bengal Country supporting its members. This is a very heart warming thing to witness. Pass on the word Bengal Country: Everyone is invited to celebrate this event. Get On Board!
