Meet the Bengals at Holt Hoorah on August 25

On August 25, Idaho State fans will have an opportunity to meet their favorite Bengal student-athletes and coaches. From 5-7 p.m. at Holt Arena, the athletic department will host the second annual Holt Hoorah.

The event is free to the public. At 5:15 p.m. on the field there will be a ribbon cutting with ISU Credit Union to celebrate the new turf being installed.

There will be free food and drinks just outside Holt Arena and each ISU athletic team will be present conducting contests and playing games with fans. There will be drawings for commemorative autographed footballs, and many other prizes to be given away as well!

Great idea - just like the Bengal football for women this Monday. However, very poor scheduling and timing - for those of us (or our family members) who would probably attend (either or both events) except for commitments with work and school and maybe toss in living more than a stone's throw from the Holt.
A Saturday may be a whole lot more practical and attractive to many Pocatello people as well as those from outside of Poky. Check around and see how similar programs around the country are working their meet the teams and women's football sessions.
If there were many attendees their tonight that's great. Maybe there could even be more. Something to consider for next season. Just saying....

If I'm not mistaken, last year's event was held on a Saturday morning at about 11 with food and beverages outdoors. Turnout was pretty sparse. Last night's event did benefit from the Chamber ribbon-cutting for the new turf, as there was probably 4-to-5 times as many people there last night as there was last year. Last night they ran out of food long before the event ended, and people and their kids were bunched around waiting for winning raffle ticket numbers well past the 7:00 end time...

It could always be better...but last night was far better than last year...

Hunter and I had a good time last night. Hunter ran around, spun the wheel, threw the football through the hole , hit softballs. He had a great time. We we late, but there was still some good times to be had. He was able to get a signed football and four T shirts a couple of hackie sacks and a frisbee. What else could a seven year old want?
