Mid-America Nazarene (NAIA Heart of America Conference) is 3-0 following home wins over McPherson (KS) 34-28 and Graceland (IA) 34-20 and today's road win over Culver-Stockton (MO) 38-13. Next week starts a rather long road/neutral site swing that will last into mid-October. The Pioneers are at Central Methodist (MO) next week, vs. #11 Missouri Valley at Arrowhead Stadium the week after, followed by a game at Evangel, the lead school in my denomination, the Assemblies of God. Then the Homecoming game vs. #2 Baker (KS), at #22 Peru State (NE), vs. #14 Benedictine (KS), and vs. Avila (MO).

Offensive Coordinator Bruce Pielstick is doing great things in Olathe, KS.

I am starting to think we should move back to Div II or maybe Div III where our no height no speed guys could compete. Heck even NAIA looks good right now.

NorCal #3/#5 American River College is 4-0 after defeating NorCal #2/#3 CC of San Fran 13-0 at home last night. CCSF had three first place votes last week in one poll and one in the other. There will likely be a shift there. Next up is NorCal #1/#1 San Mateo at home next week.

ARC is led by Interim HC Jon Osterhout, DC/LB Coach Lou Baiz, and WR Coach Michael Johnson, Jr.

With a 24-14 win over previously undefeated #1 (Northern region and in the state) San Mateo, American River College (5-0) seized the top spot in the latest Northern CA National Division poll. San Mateo dropped to #3. All schools making the poll save #11 Siskiyous (@ Sequoias) have a bye next week. Rumor has it that ARC will take over as #1 in the state as well, with the previous #2 (Mt. SAC) losing, too.

Heading into this game, ARC was ranked #9 in the country; San Mateo was #4. The Beavers will likely move up in THAT poll as well.

Next game is 1300 SAT 18 OCT 2014 at College of the Siskiyous (Weed, CA).

Interim HC Jon Osterhout is doing an AMAZING job.

Mid-America Nazarene overcame a 17-10 deficit with a furious fourth quarter comeback to beat NAIA #7 Missouri Valley College 20-17 at Arrowhead Stadium today. WTG, Bruce Pielstick and the Pioneers!
