Hornet Stadium Renovation 🏟

Sorry to hear that the $750,000.00 donation from the generous donor 8 years or so ago as part of the Power of 1,000 Hornets campaign was redirected That huge donation I believe got the initial goal of one million dollars accomplished. It was supposed to jump start what was needed to get the event center going.

Had thought that campaign was still a thing

Kadeezy, did Nelsen offer any dates regarding the new Broad or Event Center by the Hwy. 50 sign?
Very politically ambiguous statement. With him leaving, I'd guess everything Capital related is on hold.
This has been an official 'thing' since 2004.

Here’s that snippet from Dr. Nelsen to me:

On the bigger front, we have begun a campaign to add what we are calling a Broad 2.0 where the new Press Box is. The coaches chose this project as their number one project. It will cost about $50 million. Several major donors have already committed to the project. It will have a larger weight room, rooms for football (they currently have to use the Alumni Center for their team meetings), film rooms to break down games, more training facilities, and other amenities. Cal Poly just announced a similar facility last week at our joint game (the Madden Family) is paying for it. Ours will also have permanent bathrooms for the fans at the football games. On the largest, most wishful front, we have architectural plans for a new arena over where the digital sign is that would seat between 5,000 and 7,000 fans. The cost is $150 million more or less. The problem with all these projects is that we cannot use state funding, and we don’t want to raise student fees. We have to raise the money on our own. But I am a dreamer, and I think that we can do it.

He surely is a dreamer since they’ve not been able to do anything all these years.

Maybe had he befriended and hit up the FTX CEO scammer for millions before he collapsed the company .. but he surely missed that window of opportunity….. :D
