Hornets at Eastern Washington

If we can just limit their offensive boards and putbacks and the silly turnovers, we can easily beat these guys. Josh McCarver is now going off!!

Nelson is going off, Dickson is going off...they need to win this. Both teams have seemed to struggle from the FT line. That will probably be the difference in this one.
 
Great end to the first half!!! What a monster jam by Nelson that was. Great play in the second 10 mins of the first half. I think our guys are finally believing in themselves. Just need to put it together for another 20 mins!!
 
Hornets have yet to hit a 3. They are 0-4 and just 9-13 from the FT line. They are 60.9% from the floor.

They need to go after Dean and Forbes and get them into foul trouble. It's obvious EWU fell apart at the end of the first half in large part due to their absence.

Dean has taken over. Katz had absolutely no plan coming out of halftime. EWU has scored at will. Dean draws a 4th foul on Dickson. Katz has yet to make an adjustment to defend Dean 3 mins into the 2nd half and down 8.

The pathetic rebounding effort by the Hornets has continued. They really need to clean it up. 57-49 under 16 left.

The refs are taking over this game now. Technical foul on EWU. The EWU coach has blown his lid. It's actually pretty entertaining. Carbajal makes one. He has been terrible from the line tonight. 59-53 EWU lead and Hornet ball. 13 mins left.

Jesus, the refs are calling anything and everything. This games entertainment value has suddenly plummeted.
 
I think this one is over. The Hornets have lost their offensive touch and Katz has done nothing to try and slow down EWU's scoring. EWU leads by 9 with under 12 to go.

Hornets are in the bonus. They need to make all of them. Jackson does. 65-57 EWU 10:46 left.
Carbajal called for a foul. EWU is in the double bonus. EWU misses 1 of 2.

Nelson misses a point blank layup and Duro is called on an intentional foul on the EWU fast break. That should be the straw that breaks the camels back. Dickson fouls out on a charge... and is injured on the play. Not sure what Dickson had planned on that play, it was a terrible decision to drive the lane while being tripped teamed.
 
God Damn it TB. Take the points and make the fucking layup. Duro keeps it close with another 3. EWU had their chance to put this game away but are letting the Hornets hang around. 69-63 about 8 mins left. Duro nails 2 FT's. 69-65 EWU 7:58 left.

Nelson makes a FT and cuts it to 69-66 EWU 6.5 mins left.
 
Carbajal makes 2 FT's and its now 70-68 EWU with 6 mins left.

Carbajal misses a wide open 3 that would have been huge.

Carbajal hasn't done to great either. He just dribbled himself into a turnover.

Nelson heading to the FT line for a chance to tie it. It will come down to who wants it more. EWU's pathetic FT shooting has kept the Hornets in this one. Crazy game.
 
72-71 EWU 3:40 left. Dean trips and a foul is awarded to Duro. That's his 4th.
74-71 EWU over 3 mins left. Carbajal turns it over. This kid is killing us tonight. :x
An EWU turnover bails him out. Dean "fouls" TB. TB misses one. 74-72 EWU 2:38 left.

DURO HITS A 3!!!! 75-74 Hornets!!! 1:29 left. Timeout EWU!!!

WOW. EWU gets a foul on a terrible call. The shot goes in. Duro fouls out. Total horse shit there.
EWU misses the FT, Nelson drives and is fouled. He drills them both. 77-76 Hornets about 1 min left.

EWU is fouled after they burn a lot of the clock. EWU misses one. Tie game at 77 with the Hornets able to take the last shot of the game. 33 seconds left. Hornets don't have the players to go into OT, they need the win here.

After a near turnover Hornets have the ball with 16 seconds left and call a timeout.

WOW. Katz had absolutely no play called there. Hornets get a merciful jump ball call and keep the ball. 2.6 seconds. TB shots up a desperation shot and its not close. Fucking Katz was clueless there. :x
