Some interesting goings on in the CFL after the Grey Cup.
One wonders what's going on in the brains of the Montreal GM. While they were smart enough to keep QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson, they inexplicably cut LBer Darnell Sankey, who started all season long and produced good numbers before his contract ended in FEB 26. Why go through the bother of a cut when the contract is going to end anyway? In any event, Sankey was quickly picked up by the B.C. Lions.
Soon after signing Sankey, the Lions brought back WR Jared Gipson, who was an end-of-preseason camp casualty. Here's hoping that they do well this season in the Western Division. And that MBT returns to prominence after a season of injury and backup status.
