HORNETS @ PORTLAND STATE

I can't even bring myself to critique, mock, or even recall Saturday's debacle. Does anyone care to even look ahead to PSU? at the beginning of the year when I said 4-7 was a possibility a lot of people here called me nuts and countered with an 8-3 prediction. Now, to reach 4-7, we would have to finish 4-3 and I don't even see that happening...

First off, this Saturday...

PSU 38
SAC 20

To finish off the year... 2-11 is a distinct possibility...

@PSU - L (Glanville and Co. are going to be gunning for us after a tough loss)
ISU - W (They're the only BSC team you can say is definately worse than us...)
@WSU - L (NO Chance to win in Ogden)
UM - L (I had been hoping this would be the year we'd beat UM, but it ain't happenin'...)
NAU - L (I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe we can step up at home and beat a superior opponent)
@UNC - L (UNC is better than in years past)
@ MSU - L (We suck on the road, especially in the state of Montana)
UCD - W (I'll never pick UCD... In football at least :D )

If they keep PSU under 40, that would be a victory in of itself. Someone wrote back on this blog that coaching and preparation SUCK. I have to agree!

PSU 34
SAC 20

U-G-L-Y is my prediction for the PSU game!

There is no chance we keep them under 40 - and no chance we score over 30!

My only hope is the PSU OL is does not overwhelm the Hornets D - if that's the case then we may keep it within a few touchdowns.

But after being outscored 132 - 52 in three games, my guess is this game will mimic a UCD undergrad - GO UGLY EARLY!!

PSU 45
Sac 20

I dont think Sac will be able to hold off the PSU offense, however, the Hornet offense will be able to produce, but it wont be enough.

I hope I'm wrong.

Sac - 24
PSU - 41

Sac - 24
PSU - 41

Sac 37
Portland 44 Close game to save face.

As I posted on the conference board, this blue funk has GOT to end sometime; it did for Detroit. I think it's now.

Sac 31-28.

On another post, StungAlum wrote that Portland State scored 34 points on Montana. Incorrect. PSU scored 34 on Southern Oregon! A big difference. They got beat by the Griz 49 to 17. The Vikings scored 29 on Weber, BUT one TD was via an INT and another via a 97 yard KO return. So, their offense generated 2 TD's and a FG against Weber, 17 against Montana and 7 against Oregon State.

Eastern Washington was another ranked team. We weren't projected to win any of these first three games anyway. Now we'll be facing a team that's comparable to us for the first time this season.

I think Sac State wins this game even tho it's on the road!

Thanks for correcting me, but I stand by my prediction of a loss.

I’m still going with a Hornet victory. My only concern is that it is a road game and the Hornets are a terrible traveling team. Also, PSU is in the same boat as Sac State given that they are looking for a win to get their season going. PSU’s lone win came against a DII team. I think the Hornets pull this one out and Glanville continues to disappoint in Portland.

Sac State 34
PSU 24

If Sac State gets the running game going, they can control the momentum but more importantly they control the ball and keep the PSU offense off the field.

Go Hornets!

I agree SD- though I think the score is more like 37-34. I really think WSU played down to the level rather than PSU playing up- I think Glanville runs more on smoke and mirrors than run and gun(old Falcons reference).

Uh, SD...historically, this Hornets squad is very good on the road. All our wins vs. EWU have been in Cheney, we do very well at the Skydome, we almost won in Missoula once, and we've done well in Ogden.

OK another week. I been mentally down about this team and staff. However, My name says it all. Hornets defense will step up this week and we win because of big defensive plays. We finally get a "W"!

Looks to me like someone is back on the Kool-aid

Haven't won in Portland since 1985
All time series favors PSU: 21-7
Leading QB in BSC at his house

'Young' defense magically does a 180* turnaround in four days, not likely

Too much to overcome.

After the pain of watching last weeks game, I can't believe anyone on this board would predict a Hornets victory. I can always hope for a win, but just don't see it happening.

what the heck...
Sac - 31
PSU - 24
as i take another sip of koolaid, the defense forces 2 turnovers, MBT airs it out, and Evander has a 100 yard game. wake me up from my koolaid coma after the game to let me know how it turns out.
