Here is the HornetSports preview:

I won’t go into much detail but I don’t expect a win with what Stanford is returning this season. The goals for the Hornets are to show some life on both sides of the ball, avoid serious injuries (especially to key players) and score some points to avoid a shutout. With Diniz returning at kicker, I have to think we should at least be able to knock in a few FG’s.

Since I am not fortunate enough to travel to this game, I’ll be running some form of the game thread here. I have to think the channel it is broadcast on will be found on channelsurfing.net. I think it would be cool if someone that goes takes a picture of the Hornet section and post it on Sac Buzz. I think there will be quite a bit of green in the stadium this weekend. 8-)

Just saw on the Band's website that they are NOT going to Stanford. What crap is this?!!? They have been at every game that's near to Sacramento since forever, hell they even went to UNLV last year. Someone needs to explaining to do about this one.

It costs money to send them. I agree with this being such a close game, it doesn't seem like it would be tough to find the funds for a charter bus to make the trip. Does the band do fund raising? If not, then they should start and this wouldn't be an issue.

They still haven't found a new song to replace Hang On Sloopy. Too bad. They would have been a very nice addition.

Go Hornets!

Ah, the best time of year to be a Hornet football fan.... Hope and optimism that maybe this is the year that the Hornets make a real statement and have a "great" season. All too often in past years, reality sets in a few games in to the season and the "wait 'til next year" feel creeps in. Sperbeck has had time to leave his mark on the team and Sac seems to have some of the best talent its had in years. Hopefully we see a solid performance in Palo Alto, escape without injuries, and have a good launching point for the new season. Cheers to 2010!

Got seven of us going down in my expedition and meeting six friends from the bay area + another two from Sac at Koret Plaza where the Sac State tailgate will be at with those who rode down on the bus.

I have to say, our family is pretty excited about this game. My wife was born and raised in Palo Alto and we raised our kids there up through 8th grade when we then moved to Placer County. To think my son will be coaching college football in that stadium tomorrow is pretty exciting. When he was a kid he used to sell peanuts during the football games there in the late eighties. He and his younger brother went to Denny Green's Stanford football camp back in those days too. We never imagined he'd be on the sidelines there one day coaching in a game against Stanford. GO HORNETS!

Well put iSac and best of luck to your son HHD.

Anyone know if this game has video online? I have yet to see anything posted on channelsurfing. :x

Well it looks like I will have to settle for a radio feed. I will keep an eye out for video link but it doesn't look good for now...

And the radio feed keeps dropping. You'd think in a brand new Pac10 stadium they could get the internet radio to work.

Announcers said there are 12,001 Sac State fans at the game, not sure how they were able to tally that number.

Good to know I'm not the only one who can't hear anything. I think they were BSing the Sac State fan count.

The HornetSports website is not responsive at all. Terrible way to start the season.
