Hornets @ Stanford

Apparently we got a first down off of a PI call.

And there is a "we have technical difficulties" message on the audio stream. LAME!

14-7 Stanford. Sac has a pick 6!!!

Side note: Jacksonville State just upset Ole' Miss in 2OT on a 2 point conversion.

Still no audio so I am going to follow the game on ESPN Gamecast.

Based on the stats it looks like Luck is carving up the secondary. He has 233 yard and its the 2nd quarter.

Norrise fumble. Stanford recovered inside the Hornet 20. Stanford punches it in. 31-7 mid 2nd quarter.

SD - why aren't Reed/Hendershott suited up?
My guess is they are banged up and this game isn't worth making any injuries worse.

Audio is back...of course after the game is already in hand.

38-7 at the half. Stanford has 301 total yards to Sac State's 70. -1 yard rushing by the Hornets so I am guessing yardage lost by sacks is playing into this. Hopefully the Hornets can move the ball more when Harbaugh puts in the 2nd string.

Hornets hit Luck and forces a fumble. Hornets garb it and return it down the field to the 29. Harbaugh will probably sit Luck after that. Fleming (NM State transfer) is in at QB for the Hornets. Hornets go for fourth and 2 and the Hornets get it to the 2 off of a pass. Shaw punches it in for a TD!!! 38-14 in the 3rd qtr.

Sh!t. Avery White is hurt on the kick-off and the cart is coming out. Not good. I hope he is ok. Sounds like its a knee injury.

Scratch that, announcers said the leg is in an air cast, maybe a broken leg.

Looked like a bad leg injury on the replay...either a knee or broken leg

Dislocated knee for White. I hope he will be ok, sounds like an awful injury.

Hornets force a 3 and out with Luck still at the helm. Way to keep fighting.

Stanford player down. Apparently he went head first at someone's knee and is paying the price. Hopefully he thinks twice about going after someone's knee after this.

TD Stanford. 45-14 late 3rd. Damn, Hilliard fumble but the Hornets keep it.

Fleming is showing a lot of potential. He just picked up a 3rd and 14 with his feet. Hornets driving into Stanford territory.

Hornets attempt a 52 yard attempt...Diniz drills it...of course. 8-)
45-17 Stanford.

Hornets land on a botched Stanford snap. Hornet ball on the Standford 40 yard line!!!

But a penalty and a sack kill the drive. 4th and 10 doesn't convert.

52-17 Final.

Not game related, but I have to give props to the new Stanford Stadium. I haven't been there since it was the old Stanford Stadium in like 2000 or 2002. The benches didn't have back rests and splinters would jab you in the ass every time you sat down, you were MILES away from the action (a running track, like 10 yards of grass and a chain link fence separated you from the action), the concourse was 10 feet wide and the place was WAY too big. The new Stanford Stadium is awesome. the concourse is wide, there are chair backs, two huge video boards and the place is very intimate. It was like a big football valley. Congrats Stanford. You have one of the best facilities I’ve seen.
