Hornets To Play 3 Games in 3 Days....

We should learn a lot about the team after this weekend. We open Friday evening against Rice, who are coached by former Cal head coach Ben Braun, who is in his 2nd year there. Rice was 10-22 last season and have 9 returning lettermen and the 3rd best recruiting class for mid-majors.

Houston Baptist is in it's 3rd year of transitioning to Division 1 from the NAIA where they were a powerhouse. They were only 5-25 last year though and have only 2 returning lettermen.

South Alabama could be the best team here as they are ranked 21st in the pre-season mid-major poll coming off a 26 win season and NCAA tourney berth.

As far as Big Sky teams fared in the pre-season poll for mid-majors, Weber State got 50 votes which put them in 36th place; Montana State and Portland State both got 9 votes and Montana 4.

Outside of Davis/CP football, this is likely our first exposure to the Great West. Ouside of football, this dumb conference goes as far south as Houston and as far east as New Jersey. Egad!

The Hornets came back today against Houston Baptist and upended them 70 to 60. Selling had a great game scoring 17 and 6 boards. Hopefully, we can challenge South Alabama tomorrow. Go Hornuts!

A much needed confidence win for the program at a neutral site. We'll take it. We will be better this year than last...i predict another 6-7 more wins, I think.

I think I remember someone recently saying that Selling did not deserve to be on a D 1 roster. Two good games for him this year. I agree with the 6-8 wins this year. Slowly, but surely, the program will grow.

Huge win by the Hornets. This win guarantees that Sac State will not be the worst team in all of Division I hoops. Let’s see if they can build off of this win.

Glad to see the Hornets got a win in Houston, nice work!

Anyone know why David Norris didn't play in any of the first few games? Looks like he started in the Menlo game but then no time?
