Hornets vs. Eagles Predictions

Smith starts, shows mild improvement. Defense scores a TD. Late score gives us the W.

SAC 28

EWU 27

Smith starts. Shows no improvement. Loeliger or MBT come in too late to get anything going.

EWU 35
Sac 10

Eag fan here to chime in. I like our chances but I think that it will be a close game. Sac State has been getting better and better each year under Sperbeck and should be awful tough at home. EWU is very solid defensively and our offense has yet to catch its stride this season but is always dangerous. Seems like the road team has had the luck in the past four years so I think that the Eags will win 28-21. Go Eagles!!!

I hate predictions of a loss, but I have to agree. Unless Smith gets it together and Sperbeck starts to mix up some plays, we're in for a long season. I hope Smith makes me eat my words, I really do.

I hope Sac gets the win, but there are too many uncertainties after the Cow Poly game for me to predict a score.

Number of pre-game man sodas consumed by Kadeezy...

Higher or Lower than Hornets total points?

Well that depends, when will the drinking start (at a tailgate or pre tailgate), how much do you weigh and how tall are you (usually determines how much you can drink/handle)?

But, because your a Hornet fan like myself, and you've endured the same pain and frustration over the years, I'd say you're going to be a bit higher.

Drinking Starts: Noon

Height: 6'7"

Weight: 225 lbs

Years of Hornet Fan-dom: 7

6 hours of drinking x 225 lbs / 7 years x I79 inchesI = 18 Beers

I think that we will finally get the ship righted and sail to a 24-17 Hornet win!

I agree! However if we don't...I believe the ship starts to sink. Remeber the captain is suppose to go down with the ship.

A few things to consider:

1. The BSC is 1-14 on the road so far this year (Montana has the only win - 17-10 over UCD)
2. Sperbeck is 2 - 0 in home openers
3. Sperbeck is 1-1 in conf home openers ('07 - 38-9 over NAU, '08 - 32-27 loss to WSU)
4. Sperbeck is 6-5 overall at home (3-10 on the road)
5. Hornets have outscored their opponents 343-242 at during the Sperbeck era (31.1 vs. 22 points per game).
6. First BSC game at home following consecutive road losses - 1-0 (38-9 over NAU). Hornets were outscored 117 - 27 with an 0-3 start in '07 prior to the NAU game.
7. Hornets are 0-2 following a bye under Sperbeck - but both of those losses have been on the road.

With all of this info I predict:

Hornets 31
EWU 27

Interesting series! The games have been hard fought and for the most part close. It is weird that we have never beaten them in Sacramento yet have had some success against them Cheney, even when we have been big underdogs. I was at the first game we played against them in 1978?, we fell short that night 14-12 to start the streak. Hopefully I will witness the end of the streak Saturday night!

Took off that awful blindfold, got some of that Cool Aid from my buddy HHD. I'm feeling a lot better!
Hornets 38
EWU 3
Go Hornets!!!!
