Hotel accommodations

For anyone going to the Cal game, or any Cal folks that may be on here...

What are some good hotels/motels to stay at on/near campus?

If you find out anything and end up going let me know the hotel and how it was. I may head down when Oregon plays in a few weeks

I think the current talked-about favorite is the Doubletree over in the Marina.
I've been by there several times and it looks nice.

Durant and Shattuck Hotels are walking distance to the campus, but are older. Sorry
but I don't know how they are.

If money is no object, then you can try the Claremont Hotel. It is in north Oakland
and is somewhat within walking distance. (Well, I used to live several blocks
south of it when I was an undergrad & walked to campus everyday. :-) Very nice,
but pricey.

For those going down to the game, don't forget to stop by Blondies Pizza.

I haven't had a slice there for 6 years now I think!!
Gads! I lived on those for much of my undergrad days!
Has all parts of a "healthy" balanced meal: pepperoni, cheese, tomato and grease!

To be honest, it's been a while since I had a slice.... !!

Last minute hotel suggestions: from cheap Cal Parent!....
Holiday Inn Express on University Ave.
Four Points Sheraton, Emeryville (10min so.)
Holiday Inn - Emeryville (other side I-80)

all should be 140 or less... 4 Pts. has buffet brkfst avail and beer/wine bar. Trader Joes nrby. Express, just light conti brkfst. Good traveling!

If you don't mind a bit of a walk, the BART station in downtown Berkeley opens up the possibility of staying in many places along the East Bay or in San Francisco.

I think that walk is half to three-quarters of a mile... but having parked in the hinterlands of Berkeley before, I got into the habit of BART when I lived down there.
