Don't know the answer to your question, but I thought he should have another year of eligibility. Seems to me he sat out first year at Portland St. and played last year. I thought both Gunt and Barnes were two of the best on defense from last year's team. Hope he is back!!!
I had heard that he met with Barnum at the end of the season and said something along the lines of wanting to play closer to home so Barnum gave him the OK. No one else really brought up the "why", just that he was gone. I also liked how he played and thought he would be missed.
I can't find him on the roster so maybe it is just gossip started by someone who is also missing him. I also noticed Isaiah Woods is not listed on the roster anymore. I hope he is doing OK.
