I say that we finish up 7-4 and just miss the playoffs. I've been saying this all along, but anything less than 6-5 in 2010 would be a huge disappointment and anything less than the playoffs in 2011 should be considered a failure.

I'm curious why you are predicting a win over EWU, but a loss at NAU? Both are tough, tough places to play, but it seems like EWU the better of the two teams. Matchups? NAU doesn't have a good win yet this season. They squeeked by Southern Utah, when those guys were struggling. EWU has nice wins over Montana, Weber and NAU. They did get hammered at Montana State.

i think i would have put a L next to EWU, and a W next to NAU. coming off the bye might make that L->W at EWU.

have you guys ever won up there?

I think we have the talent to run the table if goes our way. At this point we will probably be considered an underdog at EWU and NAU. To answer Dr. Mike's question, we have had good luck playing at EWU and upset them up there in 2008 when they were considered a playoff team. Interestingly we have never beat them in Sacramento. Last year with Matt Nichols at QB and RB Taiwan Jones they killed us at home. This year with their new QB EWU doesn't look as balanced, and thankfully we have a new defensive coordinator so we might have a good shot at them. NAU has Herrick the best throwing QB in the Big Sky but there OL doesn't look that strong. Last year they came to Sac ranked and Herrick was killing us in the first half when he had time to throw. We pressured him the whole second half and he was totally ineffective, we won and knocked them out of the playoffs. We have not had good luck playing in Flagstaff but hopefully this will be our year! NAU also has a history of fading badly toward the end of the season, it have to do with the attrition of the BSC shedule catching up with their lack of depth.

thanks GL.....i'm not nearly as in tune with the current and past BigSky teams as you. Just looking at records, I would think EWU would be the tougher opponent. And, they have that ridiculous red field!

Good luck to you...up until the Causeway!

There is a strong possibility the Hornets can run the table and land a playoff spot and I agree with Kadeezy, anything less than a winning season is unacceptable.

EWU’s stud man-child RB Jones has been banged up. If he is healthy EWU will win. (Yes, he is that good, damn near unstoppable.) I will add that their QB, Mitchell, has been steadily improving and is starting to get into a groove. It won’t be easy but I think the Hornets can knock them off in Cheney, especially given the extra week of preparation the Hornets will have (although that did not help us last year). :|

NAU has had issues and like DM said, they have zero quality wins. However I think the home team in this series has won something like the past 7 games so that will probably be a factor again.

The PSU game scares the crap out of me. They have been moving the ball at will lately with their pistol offense. The Hornet defense is going to have to be at the top of their game to stop it.

ISU should be a win, but 2 years ago the Hornets went into Pocatello looking ahead to the offseason and lost. No one in the BSC can be overlooked.

The Causeway is still a ways off so injuries and such could play a factor, however the Hornets are obviously the better team right now. They can’t run the ball without using their gimmick wildcat formation but their frosh QB Wright has shown improvement over the past few weeks. We should be able to curb stomp them but these games have been close the past few years. I will add we haven’t lost in their new place and I don’t expect them to lose there this year either.

Good point about Portland State, SD. they can move the ball...but...they can pretty careless with the ball, also. that hurt them vs. Montana State last weekend, and put Davis in a position to win. I would expect you guys to roll over them at home, baring any injury/letdown issues from the road games.

the causeway is a lifetime away. it would be pretty cool if both teams had run the table heading into it, with a playoff berth hanging in the balance. maybe the Bee would even decide to cover it! wait, are the Kings playing that day? nevermind.

i have a dream of days to come where both teams are playing for playoff berths and/or BigSky titles, and the entire region gets into it, and makes it an event!

I am also a little concerned about Portland State. They played a complete game vs Idaho State, but of course that's Idaho State! Last week they scored early on a long pass play followed a long running play to grab a lead vs Montana State. Once Montana State settled down and adjusted it was all Bobcats, and they won they going away. This week Portland hosts Montana, that game should give us a better picture of what to expect.
