How does an Eastern Eagle count to 10?

To All,
First, this is the most entries I have made in a day. I just don't like the negative thinks being said about our Players. They played their "BUTTS OFF". Let us talk about the positive parts of the game. Like Kaufman going up and making those great catches from Mitchell that got us back in the game. Jordan Talley and Quincey Forte, two young Freshmen Recruits. They will fill in great with Bronson in Runnig Backs position. Even Day continuing to shine each game he plays as with Williams,Derek M., Katao, Evan Cook, Johnson Twins, Gentry (Hoping his injure isn't bad) he left the game holding his left arm close to his side,Gaylord, G. Williams, and rest of Defense. Some big plays did carve up our "D" with their runs, those were some big dudes our little CB/LB had to tackle, but they got the job done, after some help came.

Here is hoping for a Great next game on Saturday, Oct 1st, and another big crowd. Would like to see another 10,00+on Saturday, and the next two homes left. I think the game is at 12:35 pm.

Troy, quite a few complaints about how long personnel took to get into the game, with just two personnel checking personnel entering to the game. Just information for your usage where possible. Thanks for all you are doing Troy, appreciate it. Go Eagles

Just a few comments....Vic as always thanks for your positive outlook! :thumb:

LDopa - I agree with your post mostly - poor tackling, MSU is real good and, finally, suspect decision making at the QB position. However, I think we did lose because of those factors PLUS the OL and DL play. OL obviously is decimated by injury and did Okay, but IMHO were getting pushed around and when's the last time BLM was sacked 5 times in a game? As for the DL, I'm no football guru, but It seemed as though we had no outside contain. McGhee would roll/get flushed out and then make plays. We couldn't contain him and we paid for that.

No one should question the heart of this team. No one.

Can't wait for next week!!!! Go Eags!!

I am an undefeated fan!...oh wait, I've heard that somewhere before.....

I agree with your post. I know EdubAlum, I met him last year, and I don't think he meant what he said.  Of course, I am not in his mind, however, what I have seen of him last year, he is a much bigger person than that.  Now for SE174, if what he is doing posting on other blogs and calling out our Coaches/Players he need to get off our blog.  I hope what tojo70 said is incorrect, we don't need anyone going and putting bad information about our Coaches/Players on other blogs. He should say them here, then we can get him straight. I met SE174, while the Red Turf was being installed, hope what he was saying on the other blog, if it isn't the truth, let him defend himself. Of course this is "Free Speech", we can't tell what should be said and not said. Be fair to all concerned, vent your frustrations here on our blog. I think that is fair. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Vic,

Most of what that imbecile wrote is completely false. I haven't been bad mouthing our team, let alone calling out players or coaches. Tojo is one of the resident dipshits over on bisonville who gets really riled up when I post over there.

Not the D line, that's the linebacker's responsibility. When the DE is stunting to the inside the OLB has the contain and he just wasn't there on a number of occassions.

Vic;
When I read nasty posts here and on other sites I wonder if the poster would make those statements to the persons face or in front of the team.
I doubt it.

SE174,
Glad for your response. You said you didn't make any bad claims etc, against our Coaches Or Team, that is great to hear. Maybe if possible, I could get a set of boxing gloves for you and Tojo from Bison Blog to settle your disputes. Again thank you very much for your response. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Clawman,
See you at Northern Quest this evening @ 5:30pm. I love the posting on the blog. Vic

You can't trust a Bison Vic. you should know that:)

About the other stuff. My original post wasn't to call out the team, but just voice frustration with the way this season has gone so far. We are two completed passes from being 2-2 right now, and with a terrible spot on a punt (22 yard vs the 1 yard line) from possibly being 3-1 right now.

It's tough to swallow that our season is basically over before it began. Sure, we could go 7-4 for the season and squeek into the playoffs, unlikely though. Even if we go 7-4 we won't have any signature victories so it's not even for sure that we would get in.

I/We have been spoiled and have come to have the same expectations that the Griz fans have, anything less than the national championship is unacceptable right? This year, I've realigned my expecations. All I want is a winning season. We're through the brutal part of the season and came out with nothing to show for it, and we don't exactly have a plate full of cupcakes left to eat, even Idaho State has won two games!!!!! Weber very well could hand us our asses again next week, but i'll still be there watching it in my nerd cave just like i do every saturday.

As someone from the outside that followeds a lot of FCS message boards, I have had more than a few differences with SE174 but I have never seen him post negatively about the Eagles or their Coaches. He is a little obnoxious yes, but I have no doubt that he bleeds red and black.

Not sure about Johnson but Powers has a PCL injury and is scheduled for an MRI. Trainers think 2 possibly 3 weeks before his return but nothing for sure until results from MRI ! If he doesnt go down there's a good chance the outcome is different, trying to cover for 2 inexperienced guards and his own assignments might have proven undoable, he stilled played 3 more downs before it was a no go, hope he returns soon as well as Butoruc, we need some serious prayer until then. Without that experience up front BLM will be running for his life ! GOEAGS!!

The Defense has to step up for this team to compete this year. We are doing enough on the O side of the ball, but for whatever reason we cant stop anyone. My one suggestion is to move Paul Ena back to Linebacker where he excelled the final two games his Freshmen year. We need someone willing to play down hill. He is tough enough to sure up the middle.

The DE are our most loaded postion as well as some of the better athletes, we need to get more athletic. We look very slow on D.

First of all, I have to call myself out for being a negative annie at times. I didn't realize how banged up the team is. So moving forward, I think putting Ena in at Linebacker is an excellent idea. He played extremely well at that position as a freshman and with the inuries at linebacker this may be a good move. I think we have some capable bodies to put in at OL but it takes time to gel. I still would like to see the backup quarterback get some snaps when it counts, not only for injury reasons but maybe BLM can see what is happening on the field and react better when he is in there. On Defense, we need the need the "Beast" back like he was last year. Final note, Talley....no more needs to be said, that guy is good and when the OL starts to gel, hmmm.

Does anyone have a summary of all the injuries? Are Powers and Zach Johnson out for the year?

Enough injuries that I think we need Vic to suit up for us on Saturday and show everyone how it is done.

Totally. A very bright spot in the future.
:+1: Completely agree, Talley as well as Forte have given a GREAT boost to the running game and we have a bright future with both of them.

The Eagles are far from an Idaho St, N Colorado, they will beat NAU, and will beat Weber at Home. Now we are 4-4. Quit picking on your champs! 7-4 could be tough, but is it as improbable as our championship run of last year? 4 LM down, but best coach in FCS is working hard to get Renard and the boys going. This is a veteran team with their back against a wall. Weber is going to find out that it's like being trappped in a closet with crazy Eagle gone wild.

Go Eags! See you at the end of this crazy-yet-to-come happy ending season.

First of all, injuries are playing a major role on both sides of the ball. The O-line protection/blocking plays a major role in play calling (coaches), QB protection (players) and decision making (coaches & players). We are slowly pulling it all together. You have to admit this is still an exciting team to watch and even on Saturday, knowing it would take two scores and a two point conversion with less than 2 minutes left, I still thought there was a chance. They have that kind of potential. I totally disagree with calling out the QB. He is an exciting player that carried you to a National Championship last year. Not one player on this team, or any team, makes 100% correct decisions. Many factors come into play.

I will also comment on the long lines near the ticket boxes getting into the stadium. THAT WAS RIDICULOUS. If anything, that will cause people to stay at home. Somebody needs to get that under control and quick. HORRIBLE!

Great crowd. Could be louder. Oh, yea, that is louder when the other team has the ball....
