How Much Did EWU Make for NC?

Does anyone know how much EWU made for winning the National Championship? I mean besides the added attendance for the playoff games (in fact, how much did they make for that?). Did they make money on the ESPN telecast? Anything from NCAA? The Athletic Department needs any help it can get, as does the stadium. I'm talking total money here--from everything.

Troy Kirby would probably be the best to answer this question, but I'd be willing to bet Eastern only made enough to cover it's liabilities in hosting and travelling to these games. Playing deep in the playoffs isn't a financial boon at this level... at least so far as ticket purchases and TV revenues go.

The harder thing to gauge is how much Eastern picked up in donations that were motivated by their great play in the playoffs, how much the university is making in apparel sales and merchandising, and indirect means such as this. I'm sure there has been massive momentum in this area which makes such athletic wins greatly impactful despite the fact it doesn't really add much to the bottom line (if at all) through direct means.

LDopaPDX;
I agree the benefit is from the exposure and energy created from the playoff run. In fact I would bet the athletic dept lost money by the time they paid for the second charter flight. I think the NCAA gets all or most of the gate and all ESPN revenue.

It was my understanding the the NCAA paid for the roundtrip charter flight for the NC, as well as rooms, transportation and meals. This was the biggest reason Eastern took the ENTIRE TEAM to Dallas, Redshirts, scout team and walk-ons. I could be wrong, but do we really think they would have taken the entire team if the athletic dept. would have had to foot the bill? As far as money made, I would think with 2 ESPN2 games, EWU would have had to pocket something, but the Griz nation could probably answer this better.

Talon;
There were 2 charters. The second was paid in full by the university, NOT NCAA. Those people flew down Friday AM and back right after the game, as did the team.

I know that the band was on the second charter that went down on game day and came back that day - idle curiosity, who else was on it? cheerleaders, Swoop, redshirts, walk-ons?
