I'm just curious... it sounds like guys who have watched him have said good things. He came to Eastern in shape and works like an animal in the gym. Why did he not pan out at UW?
I ask because I was just thinking back and I cannot remember a single FBS transfer from a BCS school that really made a big difference at Eastern. The two top transfers I can recall are Blankenship (Tulsa) and Bo Levi (SMU), but neither was a 4-star-type guy out of HS headed to a BCS school.
However, I can recall a few guys who came from BCS schools who either played sparingly or just flat had the wheels come off.
Back in the early 90s was a kid from Stanford- I think his last name was Bennett- and LB with awesome size and speed who never even saw the field.
Then came George Lane out of Missouri who couldn't stay in shape and never became more than a DT in rotation.
Terry Mixon from WSU was considered their prize recruit of the year at SS, but came to EWU overweight and brought so much criminal baggage with him that he wound up kicked off the team before the end of the year. He started a few games, but was never much of an impact player.
There was the RB from Oregon State who's name completely escapes me from the mid 2000s who wound up just being a rotation guy getting a few carries a game.
Then we had the OLB/DE from Ohio State (last name Johnson, I think) who enrolled in class but never even made it to Cheney and last I heard never even played a down of football again.
Now we've got two from UW hoping to reverse the trend. It sounds like Bronson will be a role player, but most people think Pulu is a game-changer player. What's the scoop?
