Hula Bowl

This is huge. Both OL Wyatt Ming and DL George Obinna, seniors, will play on Sunday for the first time tomorrow in the Hula Bowl. No Hornet has done so since the great Charles Roberts in 2000.

Anyone hear about how things went for Ming and Obinna? Hard to find any detail on the game after it.

Our sprints and relays coach knows Ming and knows of Obinna. He says they did VERY well, but I don't have any details. I DO know that one of them thought the text notices were spam until the other one told him it was legit....

I watched most of the game, both Ming and Obinna played a decent amount for the "Red Team". Obinna made a TD saving tackle during a goal line stand in the 2nd quarter. Strange game, very low attendance, apparently this is the first Hula Bowl they've had in about 12 years. Not sure how the teams were selected, but most of the Big Sky players were on the "Blue Team" including NAU and the dugpilers. Looked like only Dean from ISU and the Hornets were the BSC reps on the Red Team. Felt like a NFL preseason game with players shuttling in and out. I guess they wanted to give the pro scouts a chance to take a look at everyone.
