Hula Bowl

I think he'd be good in the NFL, but only in the right system (not the Colts, Eagles or Pats.) He's a very good run blocker, but struggled adjusting this year to the new passing-oriented offense and playing other line positions.

I thought he looked good at the 2nd go around at center (implementation of the shotgun formation) this year.

I agree. I think he may be a better pass blocker long-term because of his size. Shorter than most NFL linemen, to become a good pass blocker, he could drop 10 pounds, and become a bit more mobile to achieve that goal. However, right now, he's a better run blocker.

It is nice to see two of our lineman get some love. It is nice that he is able to return home to possibly play in front of more family than was probably able to make it to the mainland for games. He definitely needs to be a part of a run oriented offense to be successful, I agree with WiViking that he struggled more with the R&S system ( not that he wasn't still a dominant player in the Big Sky).

Heerspink going to the East Coast Bowl was great for him as well, He might still have time to get into a larger second bowl this year yet, especially if their are injuries at the FBS level and they need replacements. I am not sure how the selections for those games works though.

Both of these guys are class acts and deserve the love they are getting, hopefully they could both make it to the next level. Teams are going to have to overlook Carvalho's size and pass protection and Heerspink would maybe have to become a guard rather than tackle (I know he did some this season) to make it to the next level. Either way they are two guys that we are going to miss.
