someone told me that on the radio show at the game in Texas, the AD alluded that Mac's contract was going to be 'discussed' this week.

that sounded less than positive to me, but no matter what, I BACK MAC.

he is the reason WSU has had the success these past few years, he still has a year on his contract.

I BACK MAC

Each year at the end of the season, the AD and coach get together and talk about the season. This is a typical and common thing. My guess is that is all that is going on here.
Last year, there was a similar misunderstanding in that the AD invited Coach M to visit with him on the Monday after the last game of the year. Some of the coaching staff misinterpreted this as the "you are going to be fired" meeting, when in fact that was not the case at all.
Mac is a great captain of the ship - stay the course. 65 freshman & sophomores - that is a huge number of newer players who will only get better. This team was literally 5 or so plays away from going to the playoffs. They really only got beat soundly in two games all year (Boston College and Texas Tech) - they were in every other game and could have won. This is a team that will come back strong next year and will go to the playoffs again.
When does Spring Ball start?

That sounds great, made my day, shoot, that made my week :)

Let's get ready for 2011, both Wyoming and Utah State are very winnable games for WSU.

GO CATS!!!

It's coach Mac that is having reservations about returning, no? I don't know why USU or WYO would be winnable games in a rebuilding year. Time to lower expectations.

Rebuilding year? With 65 Freshman and Sophomores on the 2010 team, I thought this was the rebuilding year. Granted, we will have a new QB, but Hoke has shown he can play. Both lines will return a lot of starters.
We will miss Phillips, Higgins, Collins, Fenn, Sedillo, Tafuna & Brown. But, keep in mind that every other team is losing star players as well.

I don't see next year as a rebuilding year. The big question marks will be:

1. Can Hoke be an effective QB?
2. Can we replace Tafuna and Bolin at the RB position?
3. Can we replace Collins and Phillips?

The lines and defense looks very strong. If the offense can get it together, this will be a great team - the talent is there, just need to put it together as a team.

USU and UWYO are very beatable. USU sucks and Wyoming was near the bottom of the MWC. Those are winnable games. BC and TTech were not winnable by any stretch of the imagination. The difference in recruits between Weber and BC/TTech were huge. The differences between Weber and USU/WYO are not that great.

I look for Weber to win 9 or more games next year and make it to the playoffs.

Go Cats!!!
