Downing has not and will not blame the players for the way the season has gone. You can say he is many things but he is definitely not disloyal to his players. He like most coaches will fall on the sword for his players if he has to and this is definitely not in line with personality or what he would say. This has be misquote. The Trib is know for making many of them especially since they have uninformed stringers cover the away games.
