Sac State won a wild boys soccer game across the Causeway today 3-2 on a header by soph fullback Andrew Gosselin (his second of the day as he also opened scoring in the first half) in overtime to move within a point of the lead in the Big West North Division. A total of ten cards were issued, three of them red. Apparently, the game ended on a 2-man Hornet power play. DEFINITELY a rivalry game....

This was Sac's second road win in a row as the Hornets improve to 6-9-3/4-4-1 Big West, overtaking Cal Poly with 13 points. Davis (6-3-9/4-3-2 Big West) and UC Santa Barbara (8-6-3/4-2-2 Big West) are tied for the division lead at 14 points. Poly and UCSB face off tomorrow. The Hornets close out the regular season on Wednesday, hosting Santa Barbara. If CP wins tomorrow, the Sac-UCSB game on Wednesday will be for the North Division championship. A Sac win on Wednesday will lock a spot in the BWC Tournament regardless.

Congrats to the Hornets winning over the Ags, the first win in fall sports over Davis and a few points for us in the Causeway cup. Gonna need to somehow figure out how to show up and win over the 1-7 Ags in football to get back in the Cup race this sport year , especially since the Ags will not be coming to Hornet Gym in mens basketball so those 10 points that looked promising for Sac State to get are now lost.
