I've been posting what I can find, which isn't much. It's the calm before the storm.

Beginning in the fall, the meal plans have changed for the athletes. Tawanka will now have a "Training Table" for the athletes - those living on campus and off will now have additional meals available - with more food geared towards athetes. Speaking as an O-line momma, I'm glad that our big boys will now have more opportunities to bulk up. :D Sounds like they are definitely taking steps to continue to elevate the program. Eat up, fellas. :thumb:

Very good news, it has been too long coming. Mothers of 6-7, 300 lb O linemen can rest a little easier knowing their sons will be getting the right kinds of meals.

Was thinking about our guys the other day. While we are feeling sorry for ourselves, dragging through this void period in our favorite sport, the players are working their tails off so we can celebrate all of those victories next season. 10 of them!! Yes, I said TEN regular season victories!!
Who are our team leaders this season? Not team captains but the "lead by example" guys who give this team a heart?

I learned that there is a conflict between the Raver and Football practice in Aug. and the Coaches will not be playing golf due to practice. They will be out at the start to meet and greet but, will be returning to Cheney for football activities. I will miss my favorite golf partner A. Best.

About damn time! Too late for my player but it always struck me as counterintuitive that as the quarter wore down and the scholie money was running out, so many players were eating Ramon noodles and not exactly complimenting those workouts.

And I remember that they use to pack the players a brown bag snack/lunch to eat at night but they had to pay for it(key word had)...perhaps not now though.

To All,
Great news about our Athletes now will be fed during practicing seasons. According to one of our most important individual in Athletics, "The 550 parking spots" will be completed for Football Season. The spaces will be in the back of FB Lot, to the right of the Water Tower. We have been out there couple of times watching, there were 6 pieces of heavy equipment, including about 5 Volvo Trucks hauling the dirt. Monday was the start of the 2nd week. Heard Rusty Hael younger brother might be heading this way from Belleview High. Kind of sad to see how many of our Athletes Graduated last week. I am sure we will see a lot of them back observing the team play. I've come to adjust to a 5 year period when Our Athletes will be graduating. Hope the rumors I heard are not true, heard Keylin Huddleston didn't have the money to continue with the team, he is 6'5" TE, and damn good. Hope by when training starts, he will be taken care of and back with the team. Work is still going on behind the scenes about the "Gateway Project". I am keeping my fingers crossed."HAVE A GREAT SUMMER", come back safely, and in good health. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Vic Wallace

Is it true you're going back to the Islands for the summer and will be back for Aug Practices? Have a great trip to the home land. Take the laptop so you can still post.

Vic;
Do you know if the EAA can help out an athlete make ends meet?

clawman,
I couldn't tell if they help or not. SE174, you are correct, Huddleston,he is a WR. I just hope it is just a rumor. Ronthewiseoldeagle, no, I am not heading to the Islands for the summer, I will be here with the rest of the "Fighting Eagles Football Fans, waiting for the Practices to start. I am sure if it is true, Coaches are working very hard to assist any of their Players as much as possible. :nod: :nod: :nod:

Also, I saw some film on Zamora younger Brother, he is 6'+ 225, QB, he looks very good, and has an outstanding arm, and a very quick release. He will be a 2014 High School Graduating from Pasco, WA Chiawana High School. :thumb: :thumb: Here is hoping he chooses the Eagles to come and play for. Vic Wallace

Vic;
Are you seeing some leadership from any players in particular. My impression of our 2011 year was that there was a letup in conditioning in the summer after losing guys like Tyler Jolly and the great JC Sherrit.
Your thoughts?

It was sad to see the article in the paper about the large High School camp. It is great that all the Eastern coaches are at the camp and we have the largest contingent of College coaches. The problem is if this hurts attendance at Eastern's summer camps? I don't know? It is my understanding that a lot of the profits from summer camps go to the assistant coaches. IT is not good if this mega camp in Spokane will hurt the Eastern High School camp attendance.

clawman,
For Leadership on the team, the one person that jumps out is TJ.Lee 111, of course we have other leaders like, Brandon Murphy, Steve Forgette, Dylan Zylstra, and many more. This weather is for sleeping, love it, get my vegetables growing fast or the weeds. ;) Have been so dead at the University, I even goes out to see how fast they get the dirt dug down. They are now running wires for the lights in the area where they putting the new 550 parking spots. Waiting for the Athletes to return so we can find out how our Players are doing money wise. Sad??? I don't see it as sad, I see it as an opportunity for our coaches to contact a kid that was not on their radar in the past or a good opportunity to see a kid they were interested in that may not have went to the Eastern camp anyway.
If Baldwin saw it as a negative I doubt he would have taken virtually the entire staff there.
Sound like the only people not there were the cheerleaders :lol:

Vic;
That is pretty bad when you drive out there to watch the DIRT :lol: :lol: Are you using our law enforcement background to make sure nobody "messes" with the dirt :lol:
My tomatoes are liking this rain too.
When do all of the players come back for workouts? Can this team crank out ten regular season wins?

Team run workouts begin Monday. My son has been home for 10 days, getting up at 5am and working out, eating everything in site, and has gained the 10 pounds he wanted to gain during break. Will be tough to keep up the eating when he gets back without home cooking though. I think a good number of the guys are sticking around during the summer. Will have to make a couple trips over to watch some 7 on 7's just to get my football fix. August 31st is just around the corner people!!!

Loloman

loloman,
How is Eric doing? I know that Todd will lose some of the weight, and put on some more muscle. Once they start running the "HILLS" they are going to get those muscles up. Eric seems like ha had enough muscle for himself and Todd. I saw Cooper Kupp and one of his friends from University Of Pacific running the hills two days in a row just before the Finals week. Glad to see you are still on the blog with all of us "EAGS FANS" I look at my Championship Game against Delaware State to get me ready for Football. We have surely been having plenty of rain the past couple of days. Don't know what they are doing on the 550 parking spaces. That dirt is "RED CLAY", and should be fun getting it ready for Football. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace
