I've been posting what I can find, which isn't much. It's the calm before the storm.EWURanger said:For football, anyway. Board's been completely dead lately. Anyone heard abything interesting concerning football lately?
EWUmomma said:Beginning in the fall, the meal plans have changed for the athletes. Tawanka will now have a "Training Table" for the athletes - those living on campus and off will now have additional meals available - with more food geared towards athetes. Speaking as an O-line momma, I'm glad that our big boys will now have more opportunities to bulk up. Sounds like they are definitely taking steps to continue to elevate the program. Eat up, fellas. :thumb:

Great news about our Athletes now will be fed during practicing seasons. According to one of our most important individual in Athletics, "The 550 parking spots" will be completed for Football Season. The spaces will be in the back of FB Lot, to the right of the Water Tower. We have been out there couple of times watching, there were 6 pieces of heavy equipment, including about 5 Volvo Trucks hauling the dirt. Monday was the start of the 2nd week. Heard Rusty Hael younger brother might be heading this way from Belleview High. Kind of sad to see how many of our Athletes Graduated last week. I am sure we will see a lot of them back observing the team play. I've come to adjust to a 5 year period when Our Athletes will be graduating. Hope the rumors I heard are not true, heard Keylin Huddleston didn't have the money to continue with the team, he is 6'5" TE, and damn good. Hope by when training starts, he will be taken care of and back with the team. Work is still going on behind the scenes about the "Gateway Project". I am keeping my fingers crossed."HAVE A GREAT SUMMER", come back safely, and in good health. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Vic Wallace

I couldn't tell if they help or not. SE174, you are correct, Huddleston,he is a WR. I just hope it is just a rumor. Ronthewiseoldeagle, no, I am not heading to the Islands for the summer, I will be here with the rest of the "Fighting Eagles Football Fans, waiting for the Practices to start. I am sure if it is true, Coaches are working very hard to assist any of their Players as much as possible.
Also, I saw some film on Zamora younger Brother, he is 6'+ 225, QB, he looks very good, and has an outstanding arm, and a very quick release. He will be a 2014 High School Graduating from Pasco, WA Chiawana High School. :thumb: :thumb: Here is hoping he chooses the Eagles to come and play for. Vic Wallace
Sad??? I don't see it as sad, I see it as an opportunity for our coaches to contact a kid that was not on their radar in the past or a good opportunity to see a kid they were interested in that may not have went to the Eastern camp anyway.Rontheoldwiseeagle said:It was sad to see the article in the paper about the large High School camp. It is great that all the Eastern coaches are at the camp and we have the largest contingent of College coaches. The problem is if this hurts attendance at Eastern's summer camps? I don't know? It is my understanding that a lot of the profits from summer camps go to the assistant coaches. IT is not good if this mega camp in Spokane will hurt the Eastern High School camp attendance.

For Leadership on the team, the one person that jumps out is TJ.Lee 111, of course we have other leaders like, Brandon Murphy, Steve Forgette, Dylan Zylstra, and many more. This weather is for sleeping, love it, get my vegetables growing fast or the weeds. Have been so dead at the University, I even goes out to see how fast they get the dirt dug down. They are now running wires for the lights in the area where they putting the new 550 parking spots. Waiting for the Athletes to return so we can find out how our Players are doing money wise.
