I hate this time of year

clawman,
It is bad going out there to see them move dirt, that is the "Football Fix I am going through right now. Even with all this rain today, I will be going out to see what is going on. When you are "Retired" it is a "MUDDA"   to find something to do. Vic

clawman,
Have been putting in some drip lines for my Garden, and is really helping me save on my water Bill. I now feel like an "Island Farmer" ;) ;) ;) , even if I haven't had an opportunity to utilize it with all this rain. Catch you on the rebound, got to go check the dirt hauling. Vic

Vic,

thanks for asking. Erick pulled his hamstring pretty bad in spring ball and didn't get a chance to show what he has, which was too bad because he had really been working hard. He still is on the mend. Not sure if he will be given another chance or not. Todd has finally tipped the scales at 200# and has been helping out coaching the safeties at his high school the past week or so. All he can say is, boy it was a simpler time back then. Both boys have been working their tails off over the break. Todd didn't want to miss a step coming into this next week. They are heading back to the east side this afternoon to get back into the groove.....or get in some golf, not sure.

Hope to see you sometime this summer. Take care of yourself and keep us posted

It was sad to see the article in the paper about the large High School camp. It is great that all the Eastern coaches are at the camp and we have the largest contingent of College coaches. The problem is if this hurts attendance at Eastern's summer camps? I don't know? It is my understanding that a lot of the profits from summer camps go to the assistant coaches. IT is not good if this mega camp in Spokane will hurt the Eastern High School camp attendance.
Sad??? I don't see it as sad, I see it as an opportunity for our coaches to contact a kid that was not on their radar in the past or a good opportunity to see a kid they were interested in that may not have went to the Eastern camp anyway.
If Baldwin saw it as a negative I doubt he would have taken virtually the entire staff there.
Sound like the only people not there were the cheerleaders
Sad in that this some income away from Eastern's football camp and that is income for assistant coaches. If this become a trend in other areas like the tri-cities it will really hurt the summer income.

Ronthewiseoldeagle, clawman,
I don't get the News Paper,to much negative news, when I get it I look at the Sport Page/Obituary, so I don't know what article you was talking about. However, just for the fun of it I went out in all that rain to see what was going on, There are Football Camps/Men Basketball Camps, and let me tell you the coaches and Players busy. I spoke to some Players from Juneau Alaska, they are happy to be here and they love the Red Turf. Alaska camps were coming up the hill from the old grass fields behind the Tennis Court. Don' t know how long the camps will be. All courts for Basketball Camps are also busy, the two upper gyms, Reese Court and Field House Courts. I saw Players from, Kingston, Oraville, NWC, Alaska, Tonasket, Oregon, and others. You had to pay attention to where you was going, so many young men on the Campus, great to see.
loloman,
Glad to hear Erick/Todd are doing fine. Spoke to Erick earlier this year, and could tell he was having problems with his hamstring. Hope he get over the problems, and get ready for the practices coming up in another week. There was some mud being moved around today, but not for long, it was sliding etc, going on. Vic Wallace

Off The Subject:
I hope none of you have forgotten Evan Cook,DL,#56, he is now a new "Cop on Campus" He will be attending the "Police Academy" on July 9th, in Burien, WA He got a job in his field he graduated from. "Congratulations Evan, and Good Luck. Will be looking forward to seeing you in that Uniform, on the good side of the law. ;) ;) ;). Vic Wallace

Anyone have any pics of the upper parkinglot expansion? That is a good prelude and an absolute necessity for any expansion of the stadium.

As a topic to discuss during the down time, does anyone know if Vernon Adams is changing his number this year? I believe he was wearing #3 at the Hoopfest tent this last weekend. Guess now that Greg Herd is gone, the number is available.

Wouldn't have anything to do with possessing a similar skillset to Russell Wilson, would it? :D

Welcome!

LOL! No, he's worn #3 since his pop Warner and flag football days.

Thanks! Go Eags!
Gotcha. Although #16 isn't a bad number to have... following in the footsteps of Matt Nichols. Bo Levi followed in the footsteps of Erik Meyer (both #9).

Stopped by to see our boys over the weekend and swung by to take a pic for those wondering what's up on the upper lot. Lots of dirt moving.

Hope everyone had a safe and sane 4th! Only 1 month til players report!!! :D

Lot's o dirt. :D

It'll be nice to get that upper parking lot expanded. If/when the Gateway happens the majority of the parking in the lower lots will be gone.

How can anybody be bored with curling on TV via Olympics? Hard hitting stones, colorful outfits, intense staredowns, pressure packed shots, reinforced sharpend steel brooms, trash talking...not to mention the Women of Curling...ahhh the Women of Curling. The new "IT" sport of the Olympics!
