From an inside source that EW tries to get its recruits to commit before they take a visit to UM, because once they take a visit to Missoula campus there are much more likely to commit there.

Every school tries to get their recruits to commit as early as possible. I'm sure UM does the same thing.

I've heard that some Montana fans are so insecure about the status of their quasi-professional franchise that they have to passive aggressively talk smack on other school's message boards.

I heard one of the schools in Montana has a really nice stadium. What's it called again?

probably because there isn't anything else to do in Montana in the winter. oh ya, GO BEAVERS.

Please stop. Your cleverness and wit are really hurting our feelings.

BTW, does Montana have a message board? 8-)

Actually, only for this years recruits, Coach Baldwin put NO pressure on the kids to commit, he only wanted them if they wanted to be an Eagle, I know this for a fact. So whatever your sources are, which are probably NONE, you are dead wrong. Sorry!

I live in Portland. I'm also from Boise, so do you want to punch me for the ducks' embarrassing losses two years in a row to Boise State?

Believed it or not, EWU and Montana don't cross paths on the recruiting trail as much as you might think gven their geographies.

EWU is far more likey to get the Seattle-type kid that can handle a move Eastward to the Spokane area, but doesn't want the Missoula culture shock. In fact, I'd guess the biggest threat in the Big Sky to Eastern's recruiting is Portland State.

But yeah, of course, you want kids to commit as early in the cycle as possible. That's just common sense; I doubt it has much to do with who were competing against.

Evidently you've never heard of a little thing called hunting. Probably because you or anyone in your family has ever had to do it.

Seriously, that statement is total shit. There are more things to do in Montana than most states.

I have actually heard that opposing schools tell kids that are visiting Montana to make sure to ask to see their locker room and weight room facilities. While everything on the outside looks great, apparently their locker room/weight rooms are close to the bottom of the conference and will cost millions to upgrade. Also heard this was a small contributor to why UM didn't join the WAC.

I'm just sayin when I lived in Missoula I had sinus headaches EVERY winter day due to the terrible air quality. High cancer rates from that brown cloud all winter. If it is so great there why do most grads move out immediately after graduation? Could it be that unless you want to live on pine cone soups you have to move to someplace that has some moeny?
You can have it!
