13-33........................and 1 INT

To be fair, the INT was off a deflection that went right off Herd's hands. Wasn't really on Padron. Definite room for improvement, but the plays were made when they needed to be made, and that's what counts. Don't worry, the offense will be in full gear by the time the home opener comes around.

See...............................................what I mean................................................... :coffee:

You're absolutely right. Padron had a very inefficient game and the offense made too many mental mistakes with the penalties and there was that one broken coverage by the defense that resulted in a quarter of Idaho's yards and allowed them to score their only points.

There is no excuse for the score being that close or for that matte allowing the Vandals to score at all. We wasted plenty of opportunities to really let that game get out of hand.

kind of like 2010 when all the mont fans (you included) blamed nguyen for all the TOs in that game while completely disregarding the fact that both teams had multiple TOs.

Granted, 20 points isn't what we expect out of our offense. I like a turnover free game (well, almost, Herd's face mask got in the way of the catch and we had an INT). You can see the experience in our QB with clock management, leadership, getting rid of the ball rather than take a sack, keeping plays alive by moving in the pocket or by shuttling passes to players just standing around to avoid the sack. i think he will be fine with more reps with the offense. Right now he is relying on his instinct and experience. Soon he will be in sync and this offense will take off. Guess it's better to improve as the season progresses than regress. This week against WSU, the offense puts up 35 and the Eags upset WSU in Pullman. By the way, the defense looks in mid-season form. Don't be surprised if they hold the Pirate to 2 tds or less. Go Eags.

My less than sober memory might be wrong... but, didn't that interception actually help more than it hurt, as in an incomplete pass would have resulted in Idaho's ensuing drive being 5 yards or so closer to EWU's endzone?
If the football gods can shine upon us and hold WSU to no touchdowns... Wow, the sh*t storm would be hilarious to watch. Though just beating WSU would really rile things up. Has any FCS team ever gone 2-0 against FBS competition in one season before?

NDSU did it in 2008 I think, although they were still in transition from D-II, so I guess that makes it more impressive. They beat Central Michigan and Minnesota, IIRC.

I think it's happened more recently too but I can't remember who. ISU, ISU, YSU, EKU, Liberty, WIU all rang a bell but it wasn't any of them. But it seems like it was playoff bubble team that was 7-4ish and beat two non-fbs schools.

You are right it was a net gain for the Eagles but that is not the point. Point is if he would have caught it the drive would been alive and possibly another TD.

Are we counting chickens before the eggs are hatched??

The teams you guys are playing would be middle of the road FCS teams, lets keep this in perspective a bit. Hell why not play New Mexico St and Louisiana - Hypnenated you might go 4-0.

Exactly. It's only been within the past two years that they haven't feasted on a steady diet of Ft. Lewis, Eastern Oregon, etc. Hey, it works, but I don't think a Griz fan should be criticizing our non-conference schedule when we've played Washington, Nevada, Cal, Texas Tech, Colorado, etc. etc. not to mention Oregon State next season, Oregon, Washington etc. the next few years.

Big props to them for the non-conf FCS match-ups this year, though. And I like the Sam Houston home and home we've got too.

Don't forget WVU and BYU, as both were ranked when we played them, WVU top ten.

 Idaho hung 3 on your defense. Gonna be a loooooong year in eaglville (and I don't mean a playoff run).

I'd be more worried about your Griz who will finish 5-6 this year! :tothehand:[/quote]

Nice call on the Griz record, talon. Any chance you've got a bead on next week's lottery numbers? :D
