I know it's not until Saturday, but I wanted to make sure those of you who read these got a chance to before then given that it's only 2 days after the Weber game.

As usual, an excellent preview. Stucki was a killer last season, so he is actually a bigger concern to me than Morrow.

Thanks. These two key early games should give us a barometer for where the Vikings stand in comparison to the rest of the Big Sky. If they can win both, it should set them up nicely to sail towards the #1 seed. However, a misstep against one of the more talented teams could be a sign of bad things to come. I'm really excited for the weekend.

Stucki only really killed us in the first half at ISU last year. I think he had like 18 at the half. The Viks tightened the bolts on him in the 2nd half and I don't think he even had a FG in the 2nd half.

Does anyone even care about ISU?

I think ISU will go 0-2 this week

The fight at half time was started by Felix Caspari and Amorrow Morgan who started pushing Waters and Coston. Just thought I'd clear that up for those of you who couldn't tell what was going on. Bone had to get in the middle of it and got tossed around quite a bit. There were definitely some ISU coaches involved in the pushing too. I'd expect we might see some disciplinary measures.

Thanks for clearing that up. I noticed both Caspari and Morgan played very physical in the 2nd half, but the Viks keep their composure. I think Idaho State is getting frustrated with all of their losing, plus they have to go to college in Pocatello, poor kids.

1300? 1400? Pushing capacity. It augers well for future games; the crowd saw PSU at its best, and will probably come back for more.

That's what happened...

Great game last night. The Viks came out like they were on a mission.

You know what is so very evident, is that the drumline makes a huge difference in the atmosphere of the game. There seemed to be sort of a nervous energy at the Weber State game, but this game was ten times different. Even in a blowout, everyone was really into the game late in the second half. Every three that we nailed late in the half would get folks to their feet with both hands in the air. A Mickey to Lee alley oop would have literally torn the roof off of the place. That lady who was booing the bad calls late in the second half over by the Viking bench was awesome. She needs a standing ovation next time. :-)

Onto the play. We really had some great ball movement, as well as guys moving away from the ball. There were a couple times on defense where we let guys get open (ISU most certainly did not exploit them all), but overall we just looked much, much better on both sides of the ball.

I wonder what will come of that scuffle at the end of the half. Thanks WiViking for the details. We went over after it cleared up and asked the drumline guys what they saw and they just indicated that Kyle was hit in the face. That could have been really ugly, as it was right in front of the students and student sections typically fuel fights like the Gulf of Mexico fuels a hurricane. I'm glad everyone is okay. Bone looked really pissed when they came out to start the second half, and hats off to The Horde for giving ISU a nice loud 'welcome back' to the floor since it sounds like they started it.

All in all, it was a great night to be a Viking. :-)

Found this from Idaho State's athletics website:

one of the Portland State redshirts players not in uniform was ejected at halftime after an altercation as both teams were exiting through a narrow tunnel off the court, but nothing else came out of it. Both teams exited on opposite sides of the court at the end of the game ... after the altercation ISU was whistled for two intentional fouls and a technical foul.
