Northern Colorado results against Big Sky teams:
L - 28-17 @ Sac State
L - 41-16 @ Montana State
L - 40-17 Montana
L - 56-28 @ Cal Poly

Idaho State results against Big Sky teams:
L - 54-31 Sac State
L - 77-10 @Portland State
L - 52-45 UC Davis

Their defense must be complete garbage. It's almost like the loser should be relegated to DII.

The Bengals score a lot of points and they'll get those points against us. However, if Lobato plays like he did yesterday (His best game) we should be able to hang with them. My concern is the mounting injuries we've been having lately. We need Bumpas in there.

Interesting to go back to the posts on this board from ISU week.
It's also interesting to be in the position that we find ourselves in.
On last interesting........sadly we are saying"we can win this one", and"we can hang with these guys".
I agree with both statements.......but it is interesting to think that the bangles, or bungles if you prefer are a force to be reckoned with.
Just saying.

Pillow Fight of the Century: ISU 45 UNC 28...

I like that prediction but I believe true distraction is only
Fully accomplished with a 45-38 schalacking. Keep delusional folks like mccandyman convinced that equals progression within a program.

Troy asked coach Collins in the coaches show if the ISU game is a must win (I asked him via twitter). He gave a very political answer that all games are must wins.

They have played a really tohugh Big Sky schedule and if they win this, they may be able to string another 1 or 2 by the end of the season. If they don't win this, they really could go the entire season without an FCS win and that's just not acceptable.

It is a must win game.

I would like this game for UNC if we were at least somewhat healthy. We're really struggling with injuries. Our best player (Bumpas) is most likely out for the season. Thankfully ISU doesn't run the ball much. I think we played only 3 down linemen last season. That might not have been such a good idea though because they killed us. We were starting something like 3 true freshmen in that game. I think they were all in the secondary too.

Yeah, I remember watching last years game and being so damned frustrated. Their QB was incredable, we would put pressure on him and he would roll out and make a perfect 20 yard pass. If he has another game like that, there is not much you can do except score a crap load of points.

I like UNC to WIN this one. Call me crazy, and Klondike Bear will. But I like the way they stack up against ISU.

I agree with you, we can and should win this game and I agree with Brain that if we do then we can and should get weber and ND. If not, I agree that the rest of the season goes winless.

Hold on now, lets not get too crazy here. While I do think the timing is perfect for the Bears to beat the Bengals (see Mike Kramer ESPN) I can't go as far as saying that you will win all 3 of those games. I personally wouldn't bet $5 on either WSU, UNC, or ISU to win more than 1 conference game this season. But I am cheering for the Bears to beat the Bungels.

0-7

I can't remember an FCS game where we have dominated like this before (at least in the first half). All 3 phases of the game are clicking.

God help us if we would have had an injury on that last run instead of taking a knee. That was pretty classless on our part.

HELL OF A WIN though!

...and why bring back the #1's (QB, WR's and others) to do that? Good win none-the-less...

Agreed and agreed.
Any win is good........made sweeter by the Bears execution in every phase.
We finally used #84 the way he should be.
We also dislodged a number of balls from receivers who should have made catches........any time that occurs, you've got to credit the kids for making a statement.
Morris got another chance. Just from the physical ability he has, he could easily be a force......if he ever gets out of the coach's dog house (the foot injury is not the issue).
Kick offs were just plain fun to watch. Granted there was a wind assist during the second half, but new life on the legs was apparent.
Running game was just exciting. From grind it out to big plays the Bears sure controlled the
I am glad that I could get to this game
To be frank, ISU looked like we have in previous games.....we had our way with them.
I know the coaches were attempting to motivate but their"enthusiasm"
Upstaged the players at times ( imho ).
All on all, it was a good day to be a bear!
I guess we enjoy it for a few hours, then get ready for the jacks.

Reality check: good win for us but the fact remains this staff was brought on to do more than beat a team we marked as a W the past hand full of years. If this is a turning point then great! but if this is a benchmark on a season I can't help but wonder what the hell are we jumping for joy over? The fact that we beat a team that we should beat routine? Not taking anything away from anybody but we arnt exactly moving forward yet and the crazy sideline reacting as if this was a quality or average team says it all. Tone it down and act like we should be there rather than we're relieved to be there.

Agreed
It sounds like we're on the same page.
I am not suggesting that this was an end all all
Game.
Selfishly, it was nice to be able to attend a game, but better to witness victory.
I neglected to comment on the ol, and the run game.
No need to be giddy.......but nice to get a w.
