In 99% of cases I would agree with you but we are dealing with Eastern athletics. I haven't heard AD Collins even remotely say anything about the head coaching position, such as westerns will evaluate after the season. Even if Collins desperately wants to make a change Collins boss might not have the fortitude to make a decision and will just let the head coach contract run out. I just remember how bad the Idaho fan base was sick of Paul Petrino but the administration would not fire him and instead let his contract run out.
Then when Eck was hired as head coach it was like night and day comparison.

They were as bad under Petrino as we are under Best. Maybe worse. I remember beating them by like 60 points one year.
