Idaho

we need to keep getting the ball inside to Venky. it will put pressure on the defense and get our shooters good looks. If we turn into a jump shooting team without an inside presence we lose this game

Forgot how much I hate hearing that stupid IDAHO fight song. Still glad that they're back in the Big Sky for olympic sports.

Yeah. Their football shenanigans aside, it's good to have more regional rivalries in the BSC.

Hayford kept a very tight rotation today. Bench players played VERY limited minutes. Wondering if fatigue might have set in? Benzel is usually good for 2 three-pointers per game but didn't play till the last minute. I'm sure coach had a game plan. This sets up some HUGE games next week.

Just got home, nice day for a spring drive in the Palouse. I didn't like the results of the game though. I don't know why but the Eagles seemed tired today, not playing with the amount of energy I am accustomed to. The Vandal aggressive defense may have had something to do with that. At the end of the game it may have been the amount of playing time for Venky, and Austin those guys were out of it. VERY few substitutions. Mcbroom was really off today, even had an airball.
This was not the Eagle team I've seen all year and I'll have to credit the Vandal defense.

Hayford basically only made 1 substitution. Can the Eagles go into the tournament and play three straight days only playing 6 guys? Seems like those 6 will be really flat footed by the end.

That's a tall task. I don't think it so. I don't think we need a ton of minutes from our bench. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes each from a few guys. Keeping a tight 7 or 8 man rotation is a good thing in my opinion as long as we stay out of foul trouble. I want to see Sir slash more when he's in. And Benzel needs to launch at least 4 threes a game. He's good for at least two of them. We could have used that 6 points against Idaho but he didn't play till the final minute.

go Eags!
