If WSU were to go FBS...?

If we were invited to go FBS, specifically what does a stadium need to have? Is the qualitifation for a stadium set at 25k? How would we go about that? Add higher bleachers on the east side? Would we do a byu and remove the track and put the field lower, thus putting bleachers where the track is now? Maybe putting in a horse shoe? I think the indoor facility is key. Consession stands and more friendly things like that. If the Lindquist fireworks at the pond can get roughly 75k people to campus, surely we can get 25k to a football game. I like the idea of a new field turf getting put in next year. Would this be the time to expand after we sell out every game this year and go undefeated?

I think we would need to average 20,000 a game for a few years to expand. I do not think we would have to make any changes to the stadium for I-A.

WSUFan you live in some kinda Utopia. Weber could not sell out a football game if it's the last thing they did. The administration is content where it is. They will be lucky to average 7,000 a game. You gotta remember Weber is in Ogden Ut, a loser town. Just ask Nordstrom's. People will drive hours and pay 10 x more to watch football elsewhere around here. You can't give Wsu tix away half the time. I am looking forward to bball season though. Probably more Weber fans in SLC last night than will ever be at Stewart stadium.

And people call me negative

Are you better off to continue and build a winner in FCS or try and flounder in a dying conference (WAC)? I really think that if you continue to build a winner in FCS and continue to grow your fan base you will be much better suited to jump to the FBS in 10 years or less. But with the current fan base (lack of attendance)I don't think you can financially support a move to the FBS. Do you really want to be the next New Mexico State? HELL NO!!

Weberskil,

That is not a good attitude to have. The season hasn't even begun. We have 2 very good teams this year. Do not give up on WSU or its administration. They are already delivering on what many thought would never happen. They are trying. Over the summer there were upgrades to both the Dee Events Center and Stewart Stadium. This is not a normal thing to see at Weber State. You have to remember we are not a large BCS school with unlimited funds. But if we can get WSU to do what they can with what they have then we are moving forward. Good things are in store. Do not give up hope.

Go Weber!

Not my attitude, just the truth. I've seen The jtron in action at the Dee, and I love it, the Dee is going to feel like a new place, but Just remember when Weber has a home game this fall in a storm and there is 200 hundred people at Stewart stadium, that the administaration is A ok with it, and Ogden is a loser town.
If you don't like Ogden then stay the hell out of it!! Come on Weberski why do you still hate the football team?

I vote that weberskipc move somewhere that he can love. I think a good fit for him with his loser attitude would be Logan or Provo.... That should be a good fit for him. I can't believe that with his attitude he dare call himself a WSU fan. One day when things we rocking at Stewart stadium, I hope he eats his words! It's people like weberskipc who don't go to the games... Also FYI, Ogden is always getting reconition for being a top city in the country, for being safe, economically safe to live, for an excellet outdoor city and the list goes on. Ogden is definetly not a "loser town." Either love it, or get out!!
