UNC beat North Dakota State in Greeley on a blocked field goal attempt by the Bison. Both teams were transition programs and both looked like they would succeed playing d1 football. I think we were even ranked in the top 20 by season end. However, both programs too drastically different directions since then of course.

I'm watching the Bison stomp their competition in the FCS playoffs and while I'm watching I'm reminiscing about how the Bears used to beat the Bison, and it was just that one time in Greeley. When I was going to school in Greeley we could count on a good game against NDSU, and if I can remember correctly we beat them something like 5 out of 6 times during the mid 90's to early 2000's.

Many of you on this board remember those days. Let's keep them alive but move forward. I'm bringing this up because I think we can return to where the Bison are right now. Whether it's under Collins or the next coach, IT WILL HAPPEN. UNC was and will someday again be a great place to play football. That is all for now.

At one time, we were averaging over 7,000 a game (in the FCS era) and getting 9,000 for the big games. Fans were standing behind the endzones because there were no available places to sit. This happened in the early 90's at Jackson Field as well. Unfortunately, all it took was 1 coaching staff worth of suck to cut those numbers in half.

I hate to compare us to the Dakota's since they are the big fish. I had friends at school (in the early 90's when we were good) that would not go to UNC football games because they would rather watch the CU game on tv. That probably doesn't happen in Fargo.

There is no doubt though, that if we win, they will come. The basketball program proved that.
