I think (hope) I'm just ignorant as to the state of Big Sky basketball, but I had a feeling PSU might be getting some better players transferring in since we had our best season in many years.

I've seen three new transfers coming in from D-II schools (Western Washington and Dallas Baptist). I like the pickup from NDSU/Sac State (Emil Skyttä) but are the D-II transfers just a sign of the lower levels of DI getting worse compared to the major conferences? Montana lost Williams to Boston College I think. Are other teams in the Big Sky also bringing in lower division players?

I wouldn't put too much weight into where a player transferred from. In my view the NAIA transfer at EWU last season (Hamilton) was better than the ACC transfer (Huie) who had good numbers at another Big Sky school before he transferred to Miami. Both were solid Big Sky players The Big Sky transfers are usually either players at bigger schools who played sparingly or lower division stars looking to move up. Money is a huge factor, players have maybe 5 years to get NIL money.
